Ah saxStriker87...

... maxxwizard has a Macbook, not a Macbook Pro which is probably why HL2 and BF2 doesn't run too well on his machine.

If you're not going to be gaming, get a macbook. If you're a casual player, get a macbook pro with boot camp. Hardcore gamers should look elsewhere i.e. not in mac land.

For Uni/college purposes (i.e. taking notes, writing assignments, organising photos, watching movies and listening to music), I'd say get a Mac. I have both a windows laptop and a macbook at home and I must say, I pick up the macbook everytime.

Been waiting for this one for a while!!

It's shipping now but unfortunately won't be available for another 2/3 weeks here in Aus due to the phone apparently failing initial testing on our local networks with some bugs in the software here and there.

If they can sort out the little niggles in the software, this will be one helluva phone. Can't wait.
Matt: you have just demonstrated how uninformed you really are. AMD may be falling a bit behind Intel lately with the current generation of multi-core CPUs, but the truth of the matter is, all markets need competition as does Intel need AMD in order to remain innovative and on the cutting edge. Good for you if you prefer Intel processors - but don't go degrading people by labeling those who buy AMD chips as 'poor' because it's clear that you either don't understand or do not appreciate AMD's role in the marketplace. Without AMD as competition, we most definitely wouldn't be seeing Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo chips for another few years and chances are they probably wouldn't be as affordable as they are today. The last thing we all need as consumers is an Intel monopoly as a monopoly only stifles innovation and unnecessarily inflates prices.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
