The first thing I thought when I saw this was: "awww!! I hope none of my brilliant neighbors decide to try this (without first warning the rest of us to max out our renter's insurance!)"

Really, isn't it kind of obvious that germs are made of stuff like proteins, which don't stand up well to heat above 115F? But no-we need 200F for that 6sigma bacteria-free goodness...let's stick to putting our cd's in the microwave - much much cooler...
Quote: "You morons! it's not an optical audio jack..."

Not true, on both counts. RCA jacks have nothing to do with SPDIF - it is the name of a standard, not a connector. Second, the mac now has a combined plug. A regular stereo plug will not reach the optical contact at the far back of the enclosure. A special optical plug (TS Link cable) will.
I started having the slightest glimmer of doubt about my 20" Core Duo iMac today...."mmm, maybe I could have built myself a nicer system with a larger monitor running off the mac mini"...ok so I succumbed to evil temptation and went and spec'd it at the apple store. for about $600 less than the similarly loaded iMac, it still has 120gb less storage and intel on-board graphics. Not enough to get a really top class 20" monitor from a first-tier mfg. So what's the conclusion, kids?
...I stand by my original decision.

These tags must still be attached to what is a rather large flat antenna (think paper thin stick of gum). By themselves these chips are not capable of doing any communicating. When was the last time you inhaled a stick of Doublemint?
errata or not, take it from someone who has been using the iMac Core Duo (2ghz, 1gb ram - boo-yah!) for a week now: I haven't experienced any erratic performance or crashes. I have yet to fire up any heavy duty apps (my first test will be the usually rock-stable Mathematica), but I imagine Apple developers knew the workarounds and included them in Rosetta's coding, that is why my non-Apple apps work just fine too.

And my message to the tech geeks who whine on and on about how some products don't conform to their elitist specifications should get off their arses and compete. Barriers to entry are fairly low these days, unless of course you want to build a fab plant - then you can whine to the tech-expert VCs....
Think anyone will make a djvu to BBeB converter?? I'd buy this thing in a heartbeat if it would just take my Djvu books. (incidentally - do any of you realize just how many books in djvu format are out there?? Answer: probably not a whole lot less than in PDF!!!)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
