The Flaming Carrot! I'm nostalgic for something I didn't even remember existed!
Does Gtalk count as text or data? I've been logged into Gmail from two different places (home and work), and the Gtalk conversations I had at work were duplicated on my home computer. Since I'll always be logged in to Gtalk via Android, will all my chats on a computer show up on my phone? If that counts as text, the $25 plan is worthless.
Cute, but the correct answer appears to be that there is no standard headphone jack:
http://www.htc.com/www/product/g1/specification.html

Uses a proprietary HTC ExtUSB™ connector instead. The good news is it comes with stereo headphones (pretty sure it said so on the details page before I pre-ordered, but the t-mobile site stupidly doesn't let you see the product details anymore once you place your order)
has anyone figured out where the headphones go yet?
How is it possible that you're familiar with the colors being released, but you had no idea it was going to be called the G1?
Confirmed. The "learn more" link is to www.t-mobileg1.com, but it's not live yet.
Who's the Buddy Holly look-alike? Did they just grab him off the street to increase the average attractiveness of people being photographed that day?
ok, can we stop acting surprised that people who don't read books don't buy kindles?
Color e-books, anyone?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
