What is journalistically-dubious about Page 3 ??
You're looking at cost of goods only.
Listen: Cost of goods on Vista is actually about $5.00 and they charge Hundreds for it - Why? Becuase there are soft costs - like development that have to be recaptured
Figure in R&D, legal, coding, etc.. and it will take awhile for this to pay off.
Settle down.
Profit drives the engines of the economy.
Nobody would develop a product that they didn't think they could profit from.
Anti-trust?
It is two different product types. One, digital, one physical. Two different cost structures and delivery methods. No issue here except that Target loses by not being part of the digital age. They are always happy when they undercut everyone else's prices becuase they can operate on lower margins (for awhile) Now they are unhappy because the world is going digital. Boo - Hoo.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
