No you don't, they would get in the way, trip you and cause you to fall into moving traffic.
These types of phone accessories work too well. When there is any signal coming from or to the phone at all, they activate. Every 30 min or so the phone pings the network, and it will activate.

I saw this the other day I and I checked mine, YAY NO CRACK!!!, But then 2 days ago I put the charger cable in, and I notice a small crack that didnt go to both sides. Now today I look at it and it is all the way through and is wide. :<

Nintendo sucks for not fixing them for free. Bastards...
