That analogy is like announcing that American Airlines just outsourced jet engine maintenance to General Electric, but doesn't buy their light bulbs.
I would LOVE one!
This is a ridiculous article and shows a complete lack of understanding of how the industry works. Verizon pays RIM $486 for each Storm. If you would like to appear intelligent, then you need to compare RIM's cost to the price they sell the device for. Don't even mention the customer price because that has NOTHING to do with RIM or their proffit margins. Juvenile article.
Free stuff rocks!
Love the new site. You guys were starting to look a little like web 1.96. Now your back up to web 2.1.
Uhh.. This device was announced in March of last year (on Engadget none the less) and I have owned it for over six months. How is this news? The keyboard does suck but overall it is useful for basic tasks when you don't want to drag a full laptop around.
Contests are awesome!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What's the best gaming laptop for under 1,500 bucks? I had my eye on the P7805u (Gateway), but it seems Best Buy has run out for the time being. Also, as a secondary question, I like the specs on brands such as iBUYPOWER and CyberPower and the like, but are they reliable? I'm a little worried about buying labels that aren't huge like Dell, Gateway, etc. Thanks!"
