I've got 16GB in this machine and it's a fundamentally different experience from any computer I've previously used: every app I need always open with instant switching, and restarts are less of pain as nothing has to be read out of VM; open apps just all quit at once. This much RAM has made trying to do production work on any other machine feel intolerably slow.
You need to activate the Mobile Me on the phone, so no, you can't buy it afterwords and use the tracking feature.
Guys, take apart an old drive. There are VERY VERY strong magnets inside every drive. Several of them.
@ Mobius_1: Two comment areas is actually a good idea: one for the standard kiddie nonsense, and one for on-topic/useful/interesting comments. Moderators and trusted users could curate.

I like the kiddie nonsense sometimes, but mostly it's just hiding pushing out the interesting/useful additions of thoughtful commenters.

Another important upgrade on this model is the amazingly noise-free ISO 3200 and even more amazing ISO 6400.

ISO 3200 and a 1.2 aperture is pretty close to night vision. 3200 @ 1.2 = perfect hand-held flash-less shots taken while floating through Pirates of the Caribbean!

Some 3200 @ 1.2 examples (look for night/dark/fire):

Asimo has been performing four shows daily in Disneyland for a couple of years now. Here are some shots of him from last May: http://jeremedia.com/photography/disneyland_may_2006

He really is quite amazing to see in person. Highly recommended. It feels like a very high-end magic trick.
#5, at least he is doing something interesting/educational in his spare time, whereas you are posting pointless comments on Engadget.
#16 is correct. HDV is simply not HD *quality*. Wait for a DVCPRO-HD consumer camera and then you'll have something worthwhile.
Very cool, thanks for posting this. Please don't be afraid to post Apple info... I am sure the vast majority of your readership don't mind the info, Apple customers or not.

Its my experience that Apple (or Microsoft) "haters" are insecure and generally uninteresting people seeking to feel secure about whatever product they have purchased (or given by their parents). They are the type of person most cherished by marketing brainwashers as they don't (can't?) make choices based informed self-arwareness and once swayed to one side or the other become "loyal" because they actually believe there is a "side" to be on.

Those people are fortunately the minority, but they do so like to rattle their little brain-cages.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
