NASA's new suits are one giant leap for space fashion {Engadget}
Jun 13th 2008 1:07PM One thing I guarantee Obama WON'T do is pay someone $745 million for two (2) space suits.
How would you change the iPhone? {Engadget}
Jul 9th 2007 1:19AM Just quoting Tim here:
"Cut, copy and paste text. A microSD slot. Keyboard in landscape mode option for all text entry apps. Fix memory leak in Safari that crashes it if you haven't done and on/off cycle on the phone for a while. Color-coded calendars in Calendar app. A way to export and import Notes with Notes app. Category support in Notes App. To Do list that syncs with iCal To Do pane. Empty Email mailbox. Delete multiple emails at once. Some games...hell I'll pay well for some good games like Tetris and Bejewelled that would work great with the touch interface. A way to shut off the accelerometer in the iPod app so that when I'm walking with it and suddenly want to switch to the next track, I don't have to hold it upright and wait for the delay in switching back to portrait mode to do this function. 3G and GPS, but that is just a matter of a future hardware version.
Otherwise, you can't beat this thing. the build quality, materials, interface, lots of stuff. EDGE isn't all that bad either becasue of the software greatness. Compared to my TyTN, the web experience rocks, even without UMTS/HSDPA."
We do not want a physical keyboard!!
A MicroSD slot with all that implies (a true file system, not a "let me hold your hand" hidden storage system.)
I want to be able to install and run the same Safari plug-ins on the iPhone as I can on a Mac. For example, Flash and Java.
It's not a "full version of OS-X" unless I can buy application software from an on-line retailer and download them to my hand-held computer.
Non-crippled bluetooth.
VOIP (duh). What is the point of putting wi-fi on a phone if we can't use it for our own purposes.
New details about the iPhone {Engadget}
Jun 24th 2007 5:06PM First of all Cingular/ATT's 3G network is nonexistent in most cities, never mind driving down the interstate. What would be the point of including 3G in the iPhone when the network isn't there to support it? The iPhone is supposed to bring customers to ATT and keep them there, not piss them off. And yes, I know ATT is making promises about their 3G rollout, blah blah blah. Sell me something I can acually USE.
Second, the trade-off for the lack of a keypad or sliding keyboard is a big screen in a relatively small form factor. All of you BB, Treo, and HTC fanboys with your QVGA screns can just bite me. QVGA is ok for menus and messaging, but that's about it. The Apple's half-VGA screen and Safari browser is a big step forward over last year's phones.
Steve Jobs live from D 2007 {Engadget}
May 30th 2007 6:48PM when my dad had a midlife crisis he bought a convertible.
what does stevsie buy?
a) He bought Disney, or more accurately, he traded Pixar for a big chunk of Disney.
b) He doesn't buy toys. He designs and builds toys for himself. He is the guy who specified the iPhone and then made the Apple team build him a one-off, which he uses every day. This is a good thing for us. There will be no "crashes every day" with the iPhone like there was with the early Treos.

May 8th 2007 11:34AM Alexander, you are obviously anti-energy use regardless of source. How many hamsters do you use to power your generator wheel?

Apr 27th 2007 11:36AM Thanks for the link! I had no idea bees were so susceptible to the pesticide used by corn farmers.
Patent app hints at iPhone controlling Mac, iTunes {Engadget}
Apr 16th 2007 12:12PM I don't think this patent has anything to do with the iPhone. Ars Technica is calling it Apple TV 2.0.

Hands-on with Nikon's D40x {Engadget}
Mar 9th 2007 2:13PM I agree, the D40X is for people who think that it's not a good camera unless it has 10 MP or more. The D40 plus better glass is the way to go.
Eric Schmidt says Apple and Google working together on new projects, don't read too much into it {Engadget}
Mar 6th 2007 11:38AM I think engadget should launch an "engadget immobile" website for people like kev that don't want to read about gadgets that you can take with you.
