Where's some official information on this? That original PC Mag article no longer exists, and the official HDMI Licensing site (hdmi.org) has no mention of it at all.
Can now order online at CW, for free delivery on Friday.

If you don't get a confirmation, you haven't placed the order, according to the guy I spoke to at O2.

The 16GB iPhone 3G is already out of stock at O2, according to the site.

If you want one in the UK, go to Carphone Warehouse quickly because they've just put their page up.

No, you can't. Have to do the credit check etc online, pay, set up bank direct debit.

Shame :)

Don't bother trying to order over the phone, the iPhone can only be pre-ordered on the web. The auto-help line and the guy I spoke to told me.

The O2 shop has been down from about 9am until now. The Carphone Warehouse site briefly had ordering facilities, but they mucked up the 16GB and 8GB models (8GB model was placed in basket regardless)

The 16GB white model doesn't appear to be available, either because of Apple's rumoured UK sanctions, or it's just not an option.

My CW contact says interest in the iPhone 3G is 10x that of the original. CW stores open at 8.02am on Friday, if there are any iPhones left by then.

There's no problem registering online and not in store for the iPhone 3G because you get credit-checked, provide payment, set up bank direct debit, online. At least that's the theory!

"Go log on to Skype right now, and tell me how many of your contacts are on green on Skype."

About 60%, actually.
Yeah 'cause Apple make AMD processors, the WFR-20 radio, techno-art, MX-B02 Bluetooth speakers, Lifebook U1010... get over it.
@huh: It's how LINDY decided to market it. Presumably no-one would want anything this ugly in their home.
Yes, Martin, please go and call Shiny Shiny, Pocket-Lint, and everyone else "hoaxers" without checking facts first.

Oh yeah, hang on, we all got together last night and decided to do a joke six-and-a-half months too late in the year.
The email is not a hoax as several of my colleagues got it.

As others have stated, the obfuscated text is simply the RSVP info.

And, indeed, why would Apple UK intentionally send press invites to anyone outside the UK? Do we get invites to US Apple press events? No.

And the Regent's Street store is plenty big enough to hold a select group of journalists.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
