I WANT a 6sp 3 dr. But given that the family keeps growing I'll have to do with the 5dr DSG.

I have a 2004 R32 as my daily driver.
Zamafir.... Simple. Going from 1 kid (fits fine in the R32) to 2 kids soon. 2 in the R32 is impossible unless one of them doesn't have legs!
Am I the only one that thinks the rear looks horrible? Don't get me wrong, the front is pure bliss. One of the best fronts VW has ever designed - no doubt about it. But the rear, every time I look at one on the road I think "Is that Hyundai I'm about to pass?"

The design has so many nice solid lines - not complete hard-edged like a Benz C-Class or some of the Audi designs (A3) but unfortunately you follow the lines and end up at two blobs with absolutely no true shape.

I want to love it, I even want to buy it to replace my R32 but I just can't get myself to love the rear!
Yeehaw!
Mine! Mine! Mine!!!
Actually, I LOVE THE AD. But then again I'm biased... I spend my life making sure my company's ads get out there in the same way that Apple does.

Honestly, I find it quite ridiculous that people would find ways to hide all ads whatsoever. How do you think these guys make their money? 20 years ago you needed to spend money to get information... a newspaper was a few quarters (don't say TV is free, it isn't... most of you watch the commercials don't you?). Today you get to browse the web and read up on your favorite blogs, even troll about. All for FREE. Because it is all supported by Ad revenue.

To add to that, have people become 4 year olds with ADD? You are telling me that you can't read a few paragraphs without getting disracted by ads everywhere? I suggest a bowl of cereal with a newspaper, a nice warm shower or even a soak in the tub and at least 12 hours of sleep. Come back tomorrow and see if you can focus a bit better.

Get real people, ads are how sites like Engadget are here and as good readers you should at least be able to tolerate a few here and there. You know that the worst part is? This site is actually pretty clean in terms of ads. When was the last time you visited BusinessWeek.com!!

And since I'm on a roll, a quick note to the Engadget editors. I all for being customer friendly (and in truth all readers are customers) but the only thing that makes the people here "customers" and not just readers is that they get to see and ad here and there. You guys run a great site, and your ads (to the bain of AOL) are not THAT intrusive. Why not suck it up and stand up for the people who actually pay the bills, the advertisers. Or are we all just the "bad guys" because we agree to put ads on your site? When did that happen? We give you money, you give us ad space and all of the sudden you need to apologize to your readers for our ads? Grow some guys. Honestly, I say it in the best way possible... I'm here 20 times a day (can you say impressions) and I love what you guys write.

Just a friendly public announcement.
My local home depot already uses these. They've been using them for months. Not too bad, it lets you know what the "deals of the day" are which may work if it is something you were thinking about picking up anyway.
Well, it's a long list...

- I've never owned a Mac but ALWAYS wanted one, ever since I left my poor Amiga 1200 for a Packard Bell Pentium 60 (yes - Packard Bell!!!). This is as close as I can get without winning the lottery.
- I couldn't stand the size of a traditional blackberry in my pocket so I switched jobs.
- I can't stand the lack of stability on my trusty 'ol Treo 650 so I'm thinking of changing jobs.
- I'm used to SLOW network connections on my Treo so I'll be a happy camper with EDGE and won't bitch.
- Have you ever tried to set up some kind of video playing on a Treo 650!! I quit trying when I just couldn't encode the files correctly - you know, encode a 2 hour movie for 1 hour so you can watch it on the subway.
- Did I mention that if I don't upgrade soon I'll have to switch jobs until the job gives me an iPhone as a daily tool? Is Apple hiring?
- Ok... joking aside.... I own a single iPod... a 4meg iPod Mini. It was my sisters but she passed away in an car accident (she was 19). She had it with her when it happened. So even though I have it now, I just can't seem to get myself to use it. It still has all her songs and made it through the crash in one piece... its just that it meant the world to her (she slept with it and her teeny-tiny cell phone dujour).
- Last but not least I'm gadget obsessed (sitting waiting for my Nokia 770 to arrive from my good friends at Woot). And I contribute about 1,000 hits a day to Engadget!
Doesn't anyone notice that's a clear photoshop job? Maybe they just dropped the car on a different background to protect the original location of the shoot but boy does that look like a bd p-shop job. The fake shadow, the obvious cut-out marks around the windshield.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
