This is a good thing, but including more different types of puzzles would be a Better Thing. Sudoku is almost completely played out - solution methods are so fully documented that there are entire books dedicated only to documenting the methods used, and containing virtually no actual puzzles. Kakuro is fast approaching the same fate, although the math element makes it mildly less approachable.

Most surprising is the fact that the lineup is missing Hitori and Heyawake. Ideally, the game would feature -all- of Nikoli's non-language-dependent games. Hopefully, there will be a "Volume 2."

Copyright infringement? Possibly. Maybe.

See, in order for it to be an enforceable case of copyright infringement, it would have to damage the market value of the work in question. It would be tough to argue that this in any way damages the value, since Nintendo doesn't sell copies of NP that old, and "market value" doesn't take into consideration second-hand sales. This isn't an "abandonware" issue: The magazine was essentially a monthly wad of advertising for Nintendo products.

Really, the only possible reasons Nintendo could concievably object to this is A) If they plan on releasing old NP issues in digital format, or B) They're embarassed that people might remember past promises (Virtual Boy, SNES-CD, 64DD, etc...) and glowing reviews of games that tanked.

Other than that, if Big-N objects, they're just being mean.

In fact, the song was most likely chosen to commemorate the first TI-graphing calculator sound hack, done way back in the mid 90's. The same song was used back then. Only difference was the fidelity. I remember buying the headphone plug adapter to listen to a 20 second, ultra-low-fidelity clip that sounded more like "New tuba in dime" rather than "Do you have the time."

However, this is merely a hypothesis: The Jesus/food phenomenon is only documented with respect to fish and bread. Perhaps if someone were to make a Klondike fish bar, or a frozen fish-sandwich ice cream treat...

Generally, the best test of whether someone is a Christian or not is whether they follow the teachings of Christ. Watch out for people who say "It says in the Bible...": Their next line is likely to be a quote from someone other than Jesus.

If you spew vitriol and insults at every turn, shun the idea of "turning the other cheek", and lie about people's motives*, you are not a Chrisitian.

* I'm talking about Flowers for Jack here. I'm not talking about Take Two. Take Two is a company. Of course they're in it for money. Flowers for Jack, however, was meant as a peace offering, akin to an olive branch. JT has shamelessly and bitterly batted it away.

So, is the Tom Baker text-to-speech software available in any other form? That would make for some nifty Dr. Who fan-produced audio dramas, if so.

Now -that- would ROCK. Especially if it could generate random puzzles. My vision for such a game would involve a point system to unlock a puzzle, and to progress past a particular point in one puzzle type, you have to play another puzzle type to earn more points.

Well, let's see. We've got Fishman Warriors, and Fishman Advisers. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there's a Fishman race with a class structure. Most likely, there's a Fishman King/Queen/Emperor/Emperess (/Other Royal Title) with a team of advisers. They attack you, probably at the command of aforementioned royal, but perhaps not. I doubt it's an arbitrary name (like Malboro, using a Final Fantasy example).

Honestly, if you're going to accept the whole flying boats and dragons thing, Fishmen empires shouldn't be all that difficult.
