FYI, Creative's site no longer says "Pre-order now," it has changed to "Out of stock (Restock date unavailable)".
"No, seriously. What's porn?"

It's like Engadget, but with naked people in place of electronics.
You know, this is the first product I have ever bought based solely on the Engadget post. Now let's just see if they really do ship from Hong Kong to the US...
Damn! I'm typing this on my six-week-old Sony TX850P, which I bought because I wasn't going to bother with EDGE while I have Sprint and Verizon Ev-DO cards.

I love the machine, though. Maybe I can pawn this one off on a co-worker when the Ev-Do model comes out....
"This is all just marketing fluff of the highest order."

Sure, this is. Same thing for every press release regurgitated here, every expo attended, every launch party, and certainly every time there's a giant wankfest at the Moscone starring Jobs. At least 80% of the entire consumer electronics industry is marketing fluff, but that's okay, because sheeplike consumers eat fluff and think it's steak.
While I admit that I can't see a lot of general interest, in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma last year USB devices saved my butt. I was without power at home for two weeks, so every day I took a bag of electronics to my powered office to recharge, and when I came home at night I used Internet access though a Verizon cellular card for entertainment, and kept the sweat off with a USB-powered fan. I might think about getting one of these and stashing it with the cans of tuna and boxes of Saltines.
Okay, who is going to import these? I want one right now, damn it.
Jeff, where are you getting your statistics regarding iPod vs iTunes usage? I've been curious about that for a while, since ostensibly the iPod is a loss leader to generate profit via the iTMS.
This is in line with a trend toward banning Blackberry devices, laptops, and cell phones during business meetings. Few Engadget readers would argue that wireless technology is worthless, but it isn't always necessary, either. Hell, I am totally in favor of WiFi and cellular jammers in certain public places, e.g., theaters and classrooms. If you need to check your MySpace page that badly, go to a freakin' Starbucks. There's one on every block.
Sony couldn't find their own backdoor with both hands. But they seem to be pretty good at targeting the consumer's backdoor.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a pair of quality headphones that aren't seemingly made of glass. I'm an avid BMXer which causes me to frequently bash on any type of technology that joins me for my daily riding. I've been through the higher quality headsets in the Skullcandy line as these are supposed to be built for "abuse," which is laughable. I cant wear earbuds or canal buds, as my large ears seem to have a repelling property upon anything that sits in them. Wired or Bluetooth doesn't really matter, but I need something that can hold up to taking a few hits every now and again. I'm trying to keep 'em under $150. Thanks!"
