Err poster #3, Kodak has very recently released a dual-lens digicam so you'd be very wrong lol. One is for telephoto and one is for wider angles, so the camera can be very slim but still have a very wide total range.
"China is a communist dictatorship. If the party's body declares something illega, it is. There is no room for "individual opinions" like this is a country like that.

Secondly, anyone consider the fact that VOIP might be illegal becasue it makes it very difficult to wiretap?"

lol, it's not quite a dictatorship even if it's more heavy-handed than other governments. But then again even dictatorships have their merits-but that's a whole other discussion.

Moreover, the "party" did not decree Skype to be illegal-if you actually read the link you'll see what I meant in my comment-nobody has actually decreed anything of that sort. China Telecom-who doesn't want to have to compete with Skype-is trying to make the case that Skype is illegal to avoid having to compete with them.

Also, in China, pretty much every internet company ever has to get a license. In fact, didn't Yahoo or Google or someone just get into trouble about a licensing issue? Either way, the point is that Skype should have actually bothered to think about this whole crazy licensing thing before setting up shop in China.

And finally, like I said, this only seems to affect the SkypeOut feature, so the other poster who was freaking out about their mother not being able to call the US need not worry since Skype's computer to computer calling doesn't call to landlines-and thus doesn't directly compete with say, China Telecom.

Oh and yes, I did consider that VOIP would be harder to wiretap. But then again in the US that's been a concern for intelligence agencies too. I'm pretty sure they just end up planting trojans on people's PCs to get around it though.

And finally, while I'm sure you're thinking that it's like 1984 in China, it's actually REALLY RIDICULOUDLY INSANELY HARD to wiretap the conversations of 1.3 billion people, lol. China does not go around randomly wiretapping people just to see what they're up to, because that would probably waste an insane amount of their yearly budget.

Back when I visited china in the late 90's I had heard about the "Great firewall" but when I actually got there the internet wasn't really filtered at all. Moreoever, other than being able to buy pirated discs of software everywhere, you could also get pirated discs of stuff that's theoretically banned in China. So I always find it a bit funny that people actually think that China has some unbelievably powerful iron-fisted information control system, because like I said, it's REALLY hard to be watching over the shoulders of 1.3 billion people.

I think this whole Skype thing just a bit of a teething issue with formerly government bodies having to, like, actually compete. But then again that's really no different from random US megacorps pushing Congress to make some new laws to keep themselves competitive. Even in the US the landline companies pushed for taxes to be levied on VOIP (because VOIP didn't get all the taxes that landlines did). And I think in a way the license that Skype needs is kinda of the Chinese equivalent of the line taxes here.
Err...how is this cheaper than the Delkin? The Delkin that's priced at $109 comes with a 1GB SD card, and the post you linked to also mentions the $50 Delkin that comes with a 256MB card...

So seeing as how I see no mention of this player coming with any SD card at all, I don't see where you're getting this "cheaper" claim from.

Come on engadget, you could at least read your own articles correctly.
I think this post is a wee bit overblown, since the only people who claimed it was illegal was China Telecom-which isn't quite "China's declared the software 'illegal'"
Of course, yes China Telecom is government owned but then again so are half the companies in China lol.

Also, far as I can tell this doesn't rule out Skype to Skype calling, which I think actually makes up most of it's usage in China.
lol...only in Alabama...
Regarding the post by VW guy:
Err, the front page clearly mentions that both Mitsubishi and Toyota honor Canadian warranties, so what does this have to do with asian brands doing "just enough"???

And last I checked, VW has a horrible reputation when it comes to warrantying their cars.

Toyota obviously has been doing more than just enough, because their market share skyrockets year after year, and you don't get their doing "just enough".
lol the entire state of West Virginia just got that much dorkier =)

And hey I'm not trashing it, at my university we had this DDR machine and there were always people on it and people watching the people on it...dorktastic. Inevitably there were then tournaments. And also an obscene amount of people who could play the entire game on the hardest setting...which I think is just not right.
Did you guys even look at the standard list of features on the CE base model!? I think the REAL reason people buy the Camry in droves is because it gives you more for the money-that's it. If you factor in depreciation you'd quickly see that the Camry gives a lot more stuff for the money than pretty much any car anywhere.
Sure the Hyundai's come with tons of stuff standard, but drive it 3 years and try to sell it and the math isn't going to be in your favor.

I like the new exterior looks-they look very similar to the new Lexi and do not look anything like a Mazda 6 unless you consider any car with an aerodynamic hood and aggressive modeling to resemble a Mazda 6. I *don't* like that crazy aquamarine colored radio, but I'm sure there'll be ways to get the color changed out, and even then I'm sure most people wouldn't care enough to choose a different car based solely on that.

Whine and moan all you want, but the King of all family sedans just got better. And it is king, because the Camry has been #1 for 8 out of the last 9 years, including the last 4 years consecutively. It happens to be roomy, have plenty of horsepower/torque for normal people, have handsome (if unoffensive) looks, come with a ton of features standard, and oh that's right, it's cheap too-in the very real sense where depreciation isn't insane like Korean cars.

And anyone who even tries to claim that this looks like the new Sonata needs new glasses. Not only that, they should probably take a look at the 2003 Accord's tail lights before pointing fingers about copycat design.
Wow when the new S550 was announced I thought it was the car of my dreams with it's super sweet cruise control system and 5.5 second 0-60...
But if Lexus just matched their 0-60, upped the ante with an 8 speed transmission, and made it so that the huge luxo-barge can now parallel park itself while stickering cheaper (you can pretty much guarantee that the Lexus is going to sticker plenty cheaper). And the Mark Levinson sound system is truly top notch too.

So if less money is going to get you the same amount of acceleration, one extra gear, a nicer sound system, and automatic parallel parking then I think I just found a new dream car. If their radar cruise control can brake to 0 then inch along like the S550 version then it's a no brainer...but even if it can't you probably shouldn't be falling asleep at the wheel while driving anyways =p

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
