Is this really going to be a worthwhile improvement over a C2Duo/ C2Q that already offer perfectly respectable or better performance at a good price? Can't they just produce a low speed i5 to run an a cheapo P55 mobo? The Intel marketing team is over-thinking the number of market tiers. The i3 segment buys almost entirely on price and barely pays attention to specs, so why bother with this redundancy?
The Panasonic HMC150 is the best bang for the buck semi-pro camera out there. Great pick!
Nice camcorder, but you would be surprised how close in image quality and features this is to camcorders like their consumer oriented models like the older HDR-HC1E. Noth thrilled with the low bit-rate, but glad to see the move away from HDV. That format needs to die a quick and painful death.
I'm surprised that there is so little concern about how Chrome OS provides access to your stored data to Google.

I could see these being used to charge gear on location during low budget film shoots. Fuel powered generators are loud, heavy, and noxious and cause plenty of challenges.

I'l bet it's due to the ubiquitous nature of USB. Users of every level are already comfortable with the interface, and USB also bus powers devices unlike eSATA.
"lipstick-laden pigs"

Wow, so clever and subtle...
What is it with the desire to touch screen? Are scratches and finger grease really worth the tactile pleasure?

Hands OFF my display screen.
"Part of that can be attributed to special deals and low-cost pre-sales -- total revenue was only 82% higher -- but it's hard to deny people are stoked for Windows 7. Interestingly, the PC hardware growth was actually stronger for Vista than 7 (48% year over year compared to 68% year over year), but there are enough variables at play there to make sure Microsoft won't lose sleep over it."

And that adopters wait and see if a new MS OS is pure suckage from all the early birds. Vista's initial rep was bad enough (Oh, Mojave), but W7 has broader appeal because it can run on older P4/ Athlon machines that would crawl under Vista 32-bit. The Service Pack to fix Vista was W7.

I could still do without the ninny, nanny UAC warning system, but otherwise, I'm glad to say good bye to XP.

Vista was to Win ME what Windows 7 was to XP.
I shoot a lot of rock climbing video hanging from ropes and slings, and that is about the only type of situation I can see this coming in handy, and only during breaks/adjustments. Otherwise, it looks almost as cheese Louise as that laptop holder that keeps it at waist level.

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
