Stuff like this has been around for at least 20 years or so. I saw other kids wearing this kind of stuff while in primary school!
Looked like this: http://www.sunpower-solar.de/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/3037a99274d7f74e3ed16733f0725690.jpg

Sure, it wasn't a "mini clip fan", but the rest is the same.
Yeah, the National brand name is being phased out as well.
Softbank's bad reception is what got me an AU mobile, but they since have improved drastically in the Kyushu area and even set up a transmitter at my university, so now there's better reception for Softbank than for AU. I got a Softbank phone this January and since then most of the people I know here have switched to Softbank, because it's so cheap.
I'm looking forward to see what Softbank is going to do about data plans... if they somehow manage to introduce some kind of cheap tsukaihoudai for data I'll be all sold.
Too bad no one uses Willcom here in Japan. I only know about one person who's got a Willcome phone as a second mobile and she can only use it at university in certain rooms, where small PHS transmitters are installed.
Incoming calls being completely free of cost? Isn't that normal? The only time I ever had to pay for incoming calls is roaming.
My 27" Uniden LCD with the same specs and even the same design minus the Disney crap cost me ¥60,000, just as a comparison.
This phone is indeed called the Wooo... or Woooケータイ according to au's fall/winter line-up website.

This looks really sexy. I might stop by an au shop tomorrow to see when it will be available and how much it will cost as an upgrade from my W51S.
It says "Offline Tokyo".
hoho
do want
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
