Could anyone tell me what the average read speed a SATA 3.0Gbps drive is? That way I can compare it to these SSDs. I would love to get a fast SSD for booting my OSs off. The 128GB would be plenty for such a purpose.
Anyone know if the blue interface can be changed to another color? Obviously the XMB style background is just an image, but I dont really like the blue. I'd rather go with a onyx style color, more like the HD2.
wrong. I'm 21 and elderly has meant >70 since I could walk. I never confused my mother and grandmother.
I'd like a PSPgo with a 2nd nub, and a side of touch screen, Memstick Pro Duo, not M2. Hold the Mylo please.
I dont find this invasive if used for kids like advertised. It's creepy to use on an adult like a gf or wife, but for kids it's fine. I dont see how it couldnt be fine. As a parent it's your business knowing where your kids are. Theyre not even allowed to leave school grounds without you explicitly knowing. So what's the harm in throwing one of these in their bag if they go on a field trip an hour or so away? Check it on ur lunch break, see that theyre there, then check it again when it comes time they should be heading home. It's better than giving a bunch of 8 year olds little cell phones.
This is why Android gets my vote. I think in the coming years we will be able to change interfaces as we do themes or color schemes. So while Android will be giving you tons of choices on bleeding edge interfaces, Windows Mobile will always be giving you the one from 5 years prior.
It's perfect! I've been waiting for a good nettop with the "one-two punch" along with decent storage and memory. The DVD burner and Windows are just baggage for me though.

Does anyone know if you can buy EeeBoxes without an OS? Or if theres any version that comes with a Linux distro? The site shows all models with XP. I plan on putting Ubuntu on it.

Of course, I also plan on waiting till I can get it for around $300.. But I still dont like the idea of paying for Windows.
Yeah as an Ubuntu user these ads are just comic gold. Each company screws the user in one way or an other and you can always look to the comments for some hilarious commentary.
This is THE device ive been waiting for. I started to think I was going to have to just get a MID and cell phone seperate. If this thing really does pack storage, sd card, 800x480, sim card, and Android I'll pay almost anything to get it. That 5inch screen is beautiful.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
