Talk is cheap, and that's all Palm has done so far.

You should repeat this analysis when the Pre actually ships. By that time, iPhone 3.0 is likely to be out and may address many of the issues you raise.

Granted Palm is no Microsoft, but this article reminds me of the comparisons of Longhorn to shipping Mac OS X. By the time it shipped, Vista bore little resemblance to Longhorn.

You can't honestly compare a shipping product to a demo.

I wish Palm luck and hope that it gives Apple a run for its money!
Apple and others do have something to learn from Palm's WebOS.

However, the Pre and its OS is unproven vaporware. You cannot truthfully cite the phone's accomplishments when it doesn't even have a release date yet.

WebOS ain't done nothin' yet!
Ed is right! I was just about to complain about the same thing myself.

It's not unique to this article, but the TUAW "tag" links like the "Get a Mac" link in this article sure are annoying.
Eschew obfuscation!
Vote for Prez Hilton!!!!!
This article is wrong! The 700 Mhz spectrum mentioned in the 2nd paragraph went to Verizon not AT&T.

Get the facts straight!

This interview convinces me not to buy Pixelmator for now.

They're business plan is contradictory. Out of one side of their mouths, they say they want something for novice users, and out of the other side they want to compete with Photoshop, an app for experts if there ever was one. I don't think these two goals are compatible in one app, but please prove me wrong.

They don't demonstrate much ability to explain their UI choices. That makes me wonder if their UI is carefully chosen or just capricious. All this makes me leery of the app's usability as more features are added.

Hearing that they're going to give Photoshop a run for its money makes me think that Pixelmator is going to develop a bad case of feature-itis.
What is Flicka?
freeeeeeee!!!

"My father-in-law is heading back to school in the spring and wants a laptop for Christmas. The only catch is their budget is around $400 and he does not want a netbook. He's not very "tech savvy" at all and doesn't need a hoss of a machine (not that $400 could get you one). We would like to get it for him as soon as possible and would love some input."
