I will take one
Xero, I'm confused. You wrote "im no sony fanboy", which is funny because in your post at http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/22/ps3-price-cut-by-20-now-includes-hdmi-1-3/2, assuming you are the same Xero, you say you are a fanboy and claim that sony is genius. So which is it?

PS3 fans always talk about how you need to spend more to bring the capability of the 360 up to the PS3. But you also need to spend more to bring the PS3 up to the 360. For the record, I own both so I know how much it costs.

To make it equal, you need to need to buy a new wireless adapter for the PS3 - the 360 wireless is A/B/G, the PS3 is only B/G. I use A for my laptop at home, much faster and reliable than B/G.
Now add in the $60 for the Sony HDMI cable - the elite version has one in box. $53 for a 120GB drive for the PS3 (from newegg) - the elite version has one in box. $30 for a headset (the cheapest one from EBGames) - the elite version has one in box. I get a movie in the box with the HD drive, none in the box with a PS3 (at least I didn't when I bought it 3 months ago) - let's add $20.
Add $200 to the 360 for the HD DVD drive (although, there were reports of it for $79 from Sam's, but we will go with the official prices).
360 Elite price - $779 (system, wifi, HD DVD drive)
PS3 price - $862 (system, wifi, remote, headset, movie, cable, HDD)

That is more than $800, and it looks like the 360 is a much better value.
Yesterday on the last Apple TV commercial, er, article here on Engadget, when people made a few comparisons to MCE and 360, the Apple fans were having a fit about how you can't comare the two because they are not in the same market. I think if true and not the usual "some random person mentioned IPTV would be great on an Apple TV" and so now Apple will be doing it rumor, this puts them very much in the same market. Now, Apple boys, do we have your permission to start comparing prices, functionality, etc?
Apple added 120GB, they added $100. Microsoft added 100GB, they added $80.

Do you really think that the previous, smaller drive Apple TV did not count any price in the older price tag. This is exactly what I was talking about in my original post. Apple fans are defending this, but then criticize Microsoft selling an ***optional*** piece of hardware for a higher price and it is derided.

"Perhaps because the xbox drive was **$179** for an extra 120GB? Also, I don't see Apple fans running in the streets... exaggerate much?"

Wow, you have absolutely no F-ing concept of a sense of humor, do you?
I see a lot of positive comments here. Is there a lot of negative comments on Mac-specific boards? Possibly, but I don't read those. But here, I do not see anybody criticizing over the price. Instead, it is "160GB HD? You just sold yourself an AppleTV Steve-O.", and people saying that you can get better features in another place being shot down.

Not anything near the rioting when they announced the price of the 360 120GB HD.
Apple: Add 120GB, charge $100 extra, and the Apple fans are running through the streets, praising the almighty Jobs.
Microsoft: Add 100GB (new 360 drive), charge $80 extra, and the Apple/Sony/anti-MS fans are running through the streets yelling that MS is raping their wallets.

Sigh.
"And the hobby is Apple TV. The reason I call it a hobby is a lot of people have tried and failed to make it a business. It's a business that's hundreds of thousands of units per year but it hasn't crested to be millions of units per year, but I think if we improve things we can crack that."

Doesn't Jobs try to understand the industry? Apple TV is a weak version of a media center extender. Millions of people use their X360 to download TV shows, movies, and trailers in HD - not the 640X480 quality that iTunes sells at, but real HD. I can stream music, pictures, video, etc. from my PC. And over 10 million of those have been sold. Add in games, HD DVD movie watching, etc. But that is a market that nobody has cracked yet? Job's reality distortion field is in full effect today. Hell, even the PS3 has a better feature set than the Apple TV does.
I said nothing about the 360 remote - just that I didn't like the PS3 one. I have options with the 360 (Harmony), not my PS3. I stated that for movies the 360 and PS3 there is no difference in sound (remember, different drive for watching movies on the 360). If something goes wrong with the PS3, I have to lie about my cable preferences? Then you throw in personal attacks (I'm deaf?), and then throw in some more incorrect claims about the 360 - the 360 uses RF, an industry standard (all remotes except the PS3 remote is RF based) not some MS specific bluetooth. Then add in some diversion from the topic, what does a "cheap headset" or "D pad" have to do with watching movies? Everything I wrote about directly effects ***MOVIE*** experience.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
