That syncing issue isn't limited to windows 7 I get the same sync error when I connecting to my white 24" iMac running snow leopard. Definitely not win 7
Simple formula:
• ION or similar (i.e. HD playback capable)
• HDMI (loose the VGA and just have an adaptor)
• minimum 4 USB ports
• eSATA - Make better use of the SATA controller on many existing boards
• No display below 1024px wide
• Battery life must not be below 4 hours actual use
• Make some keyboardless touchscreens based enclosures, crunchpad style.
I certainly hope this is a fake the layout/balance/symmetry deals bad. I'm betting it's just a photoshopped iPod touch g1
I don't think they're doing it just for the sake of it. I think they're looking to take a little of the low-end camcorder market from the likes of the Flip video and Creative's Vado. They've now got the software on the device to make it usable and it's not like the crappy camera's in the iPhones are particularly expensive devices. It just means more people capturing bits of band gigs and events with their music players as well as people with their mobile phones.
Have been running a video post studio for a number of year and we've tried plenty of external enclosures. The most reliable (build and powersupply) one's we've used to date are these by Sarotech: http://www.sarotech.com/english/product/hardbox_m_sata.html
We have a stack of them (counting 10 or so just where I am sitting) and not one so far has had a fault in 4 years. They also have the added bonus that there is no powerbrick, so you don't need to juggle powerboards.
Hate to rain on your parade Rod but stereo bluetooth sucks. The fidelity of the sound is shockingly crappy and it's a real battery drain to boot. There are plenty of adapters floating around to do it if you want to. Just a shame no ones made one that fits snugly on the dock connector I suppose.
Get rid of the stupid chrome back and edges on the iPod touch and go for anodized black or silver. Come one Apple the chrome back was only ever good for PR shots.
Andy I noticed you didn't answer Vidikron's question (at least not that I could see) and as someone that appears to have knowledge on the subject I too want to know what you think.

What is your opinion on the following:
Patenting an idea with the sole intention of sitting on it and not making a real attempt to produce a product or licence it.
I had this issue two in the midst of a tight motion graphics deadline where I work and it prevented us from using two of our Mac workstations for rendering.

However using Pacafist to install Quicktime 7.3.1 and the previous version of iTunes worked a treat. Now those two machines are back in action.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
