In case people complaining about Firefox's speed haven't done these, here's a link to step-by-step instructions on how to speed up Firefox now (and I've boosted mine by up to 35%): http://www.speedupfirefox.com/
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't have any problems with 10.5.5--it runs perfectly in fact, and when I tried installing 10.5.6, I got into a whole mess of trouble. Ain't upgrading.
Is it compatible with a Mac? My main beef with Nokia is their lack of Mac support--like I can't transfer my contacts, calendar, etc. between a Nokia phone and my Mac w/o 3rd party support. Their desktop software is always PC-only.
PC: Hi. I'm a PC.

Mac: And I'm a Mac.

PC: I have $999 and I want to buy a 17-inch screen Laptop.

Mac: If that's all you want, then go buy a PC.

PC: But I also want stability, speed, an intuitive interface, better quality, and I can't afford to change computers every 3 years.

Mac: Are you set on the 17-inch screen?

PC: If I can get all those other features, no.

Mac: Then get a Macbook white--though the screen is slightly smaller, the superior graphics and all those other features will give you a better user experience for many years to come.

PC: Okay, I think I'll go get a Mac.
Pre can't even run the old Palm apps in emulator mode--now that's one 'feature' that they should've done.

As for complaining about the length of time it took for Apple to come up with 3.0, puleeeaze. As a developer, just the copy and paste feature alone is incredibly complicated to program--one that is well-designed and executed. I'm surprised they got it out.
I want MessageEase's virtual keyboard which allows almost 100% accuracy in typing text on a virtual keyboard: http://exideas.com/ME/DeviceSimulators/iPhone.html
how many people will go to a store just to buy crap? 'cuz that's what MS produces.
I checked the 1984 bell labs patent and pinch to shrink was not covered/mentioned. Apple does patent the gestures though so Palm is in trouble.
Did Apple pattent the touch patterns: pinch to shrink an image/document, fingers pushing outward to expand--cuz the Palm Pre demo uses these exact same patterns. From the demo of android, they don't use any of these.

It takes innovation to do what Apple did--nobody ever thought of it before they implemented it in the iPhone so I think it is defensable/patentable.

Palm just needs to use other gestures.
Biggest problem w/ Plasma is the power consumption: 6x the electricity of a regular crt tv. If you can afford that drastic increase in your electric bill and the guilt of adding to global warming, then...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
