This would allow TiVo to access sites like Hulu. This would allow users the option of watching free shows with commercials or renting commercial free from Amazon or NetFlix.
FINALLY
I hope this is not be limited to the Series 4 as us Series 3 users would love this. Well, I would love it on my series 2, but I guess that's out of the question.
Solving the world economy is easy.
Give everyone in the world 1 million dollars. They can pay off their mortgage, spend it or save it. Whatever they do will go into the world economy. Not to mention it would cost less than the billions given to banks worldwide thus far.
OK, so there's would be a slight inflation problem..... It's just a theory so far.
I have nothing but good things to say about Best Buy.
They have always matched or beaten prices for me. On the odd occasion where I have found a cheaper price afterwards, they have immediately refunded the money.

The thing you have to remember about most of the "price match" items is that many stores now sell items specifically made for them. You may find two identical refrigerators, but when you look closely, the model numbers are different by one letter or number and so technically they are not the same item.
This also doe snot include the fact that when you rent or buy a DVD (or BDVD) there are extras on the disk, such as the bits they cut out ot get more showings in the movie theatre. These, so called, extras are not included when you download a movie.
Also, If I want to give a disk as a gift, I want to give a real, tangible item, not just an email or a gift card
According to wikipedia, "The FCC has ruled that starting July 1, 2007, cable customers are able to purchase DVRs and other 3rd party devices to legally view digital cable without having to rent hardware from the cable company."

Aparantly that would need to be amended to "The FCC has ruled that starting July 1, 2007, cable customers are able to purchase DVRs and other 3rd party devices to legally view digital cable AND STILL HAVE to rent hardware from the cable company."
From what I can make out DCAS could work as a USB Dongle (with a software/firmware update) since it is just some circuitry and a chip. I'm sure the same is true of a "tuning resolver". In a time when electronics can get smaller and smaller, why are these devices getting bigger and bigger. They consume more power since it will also need to be left running the whole time, when I'm sure it could just get power from the device it is plugged into. It would be cheaper to produce and more people would want it. Also, if it's cheaper, you've got more people that would just get one rather than try to find a way around using one. I'm sure i'm over simplifying things, but when will Cable/Satellite Companies realize that the end users are consumers and not the enemy that they treat us as.
Nothing better than being able to watch TV after the big switch off. Of course then there is the question of how to dispose of my old CRT whilst still being environmentally friendly.
My horde would prefer Alliance
Thank you
If worthy, I would take a Horde, thank you.
All I need is a way to output the monitor signal and sound wirelessly from the office computer to the TV downstairs. It's not something I do much, but it would nice. That way I could watch "webisodes" on a decent screen rather than the family crowding around the desk in the office.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
