@Flashpoint: "I guarrantee you all, less than 5 months after you get it, its gonna be put in the closet next to the FAILED Ab Lounge, Ab Flex, Bo Flex, and the treadmill."

If MS and Sony made consoles similar to the wii, they would create competition for Nintento, who would be forced to improve their console. What we would end up with is a better version of the wii. Would that be a bad thing? There are things that could be changed about the wii, but I love mine all the same.

There is a market for the more expensive consoles, which is why MS and Sony went that route. There is also a market for a reasonably priced (and also fun) console, which is why the wii is selling so well.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
