they need to get rid of that Canadian ownership law for carriers if we ever hope to see decent pricing in this country... these CEO's must just call each other and agree to screw us over year after year...
frig man.. when others on this board were poo pooing apple's patent and saying there is no other way to do zoom other than pinch i gave this as an option... as well as about 5 others and they still didn't see it.. hey Nokia, where's my money for the tip??
that's actually really nice... looks like Nokia has finally felt the fire that's burning under it's butt as it's market share melts away.. now they have to do something about their pricing.. this thing probably cost like $800-1000 looking at how they price their other phones.

now if they can fix the 5 bijillion levels you need to step through to get anything done anywhere else in their OS they might be on to something...
why not just use a slingbox and a sling client on your device... why would you pay for cable TV twice? with the slingbox you also have access to ALL your content at home as well not just broadcast cable...
can someone explain to my why this thing has a touch screen that sits on top of your stereo.. isn't that other duet thing they had much better where the screen is in the remote.... you can search, skip etc right from the remote.. this thing makes no sense to be at all... what the hell where they thinking??
did that guy just pull out a stylus... Earth to Sony's designers... modern touchscreen device are now designed to be fully functional with fingers only... people don't want to wip out a stylus to use their phones anymore.

this is just basically the same old, same old from Sony.. nice hardware but the software sucks the big one... 10 year old crap, all gussyed up to look modern in still shots...

get a clue Sony! no one is going to fall for it get to work on a real OS or use android and adapt it.. do something.. this is not going to cut it.. like i said it's too bad because the hardware is pretty sweet...
bluetooth stereo headset spec only partially implemented... Audio / Video Control Transport Protocol (AVCTP)

for me and many other on apple discussion forums the contols on the bluetooth headset only partially work... play/pause, volume +/- work... but previous/next track doesn't work... which really sucks since it means you still have to pull your damn iPod out of your pocket to play your damn music... frig!! did this even get tested?? how the hell does that get missed!!

also when playing video with bluetooth headphones... the audio is out of sync with video.. how does that happen??

bluetooth headset support was one of the few reasons i bought the update..

ASTOUNDING!!!
i saw this thing on TV like 10years ago minimum.. probably more like 15 years ago... this thing just needs to die... really, c'mon man it's just not going to work and it cost to damn much.
forget about stupid slow, useless USB and Firewire drives... eSATA makes even firewire 800 look as slow as molasses and gibabit ethernet look as slow as sh!t... want external drives with transfer rates as fast as your internal drives (i've got 100MB/s + transfers)... just go eSATA or go home!

here is a 1TB Fantom eSATA/USB 2.0 drive for $80.. this thing is going to leave FW 800 drives in the dust by a large margin... try to find a 1TB FW 800 drive for $80... didn't think so!

http://dealmac.com/Fantom-1-TB-e-SATA-USB-2-0-External-Hard-Drive-for-80-0-s-h-after-rebates/282403.html

eSATA only drives are better/faster... but holy crap try to find even an internal OEM 1TB drive for $80 much less one in an enclosure.

yes, and i also understand that to everyone except you and the writer of the story an electric vehicle is one fuelled by batteries not hydrogen.

i guess for you gasoline vehicles are really heat powered for you and the writer as well... one needs to speak and write using well established terms or no one will know what the hell you are talking about or you need to explain yourself... i know that too...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
