I think it's a bit more than a rumour, as it's retailing for about US$550 in Taiwan http://shopping.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func=exhibit&IT_NO=AEAA35-A42967051&SR_NO=AEAA35&ROWNO=14
There are a few models that has it, but it's still not that common as most use cheaper li-ion batteries.
The CPU should offer slightly better performance and the chipset should offer vastly better video decoding performance, but it might not be quite as great in some other scenarios. You can check out a review of the Samsung NC20 which might not use the same chipset as the Lenovo here http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/249540/samsung-nc20.html
Why would the Nano model draw more power than the Atom N270 model?
That makes no sense at all, even if the VIA Nano CPU draws a tiny bit more power, the 945GSE chipset draws a lot more power than VIA's chipsets.

The Atom+ION model has been delayed until October, Lenovo is most likely waiting for Windows 7, as it offers some native GPGPU features like video transcoding as you copy files to your portable media player etc. http://www.netbooknews.com/451/lenovo-ideapad-s12-delayed-until-october/
Maybe Engadget should try using some PC video editing software, as 90% of video editing software on a PC works natively with AVCHD, so no conversion needed to be able to edit it.
They have changed the shift key, it's the FN key that is on the far right now, pas the cursor keys. However, the right shift is still quite small.
The 10s looks just like the J&W Minix 811. Hands on video with the J&W from Computex here http://www.netbooknews.com/224/jw-minix-811-hands-on-video/
I don't think it's that kind of stainless ;-)
Any specific reason why? It's fairly thin steel in this case, but it looks great and it should make it pretty rugged unless you drop it onto something sharp...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I have a MacBook Pro and an Xbox 360 and I would like to get a 20- to 24-inch display that will support both devices. The speakers should be inbuilt, or there should be an aux out on the display to hook up external speakers. Help! Please!"
