At what point did it become "cool" to stop using clear English in journalism?

Why not say, "Nokia to close London store"?

What does shuttering mean over and above shutting or closing? Why do we need the word "flagship" which adds virtually nothing as Nokia only really has one shop in the whole of London.

Sorry for the pedantry, but seriously guys, news needs to be clear and concise. There are no bonus points for being more verbose.
@JMonkeYJ The answer to the iPhone question is that you would avoid starting a sentence with it. Or could could use "The iPhone". Which annoys Steve Jobs, because he thinks it should just be "iPhone".
My wife has a Wii. And like every other Wii on the planet, it sits, unused next to my constantly-in-use 360.
This is the most hideous thing I've ever seen.

While I don't really like the cream colour of the 360, I think it's still a very well designed piece of kit.

Ben Heck does better than this with EVERYTHING he does.

Oh, and check out the rearranging of the 360 that QuietPC does. Those look pretty good too. And won't die so fast.
I love my 360, but Microsoft is really shooting itself in the foot with this nonsense.

Banning modded consoles is one thing, but stopping people from avoiding their idiotic over-priced accessories is quite another.

Desist MS.
It's actually a bit of a mystery to me this one. Flash is very badly optimised, and I had a chat with someone from DivX once who pointed out it's the worst way of displaying video imaginable. Adobe says that it has optimisations for using the GPU in your computer (both PC and Mac) but I've never seen any evidence of it.

Silverlight, on the other hand, seems to handle GPU acceleration properly.

My work computer refuses to play most 720p videos on YouTube, but has no problem with Silverlight.
This is to 1080p video what cheese in a can is to cheese.

A bastardisation.
It would be totally awesome if the CE partner was Popcorn Hour. Because I have one, and I'd love to see Boxee on it :)
I'm using the Magic at the moment. It's brilliant. Apart from the battery life - which is dreadful.

Android is nothing short of brilliant.
What's better than that? Something not made by Apple.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I love my little computing companion but I often find myself missing a full sized keyboard. I have been looking at several of these portable and flexible keyboards, but I can't seem to make up my mind about which I should buy. I don't want the keyboard to be overly expensive, but I want it to be good quality. Also, how difficult is it to type on these keyboards? Thanks!"
