5. I must agree that this is a false good idea, much like the mouse/phone. There are so many great laptops out there (mac and/or PC) and so many small desktop PCs, who's going to get something like that???

People with phallic issues?
Ummm, am I the only one who finds this useless?

I mean the big screen.....ya. But do you really need a 20" portable screen? Isn't that what the projector is for?

and 18lbs? Wow. Have fun using that on an airplane or a commute hahaha. J/k I know it's not a commuter craptop. But still. Isn't that part of what a portable computer is all about? portability?

Oh well, Dell is screwed now anyway, since we have XP running on macs. Viva la BootCamp.

Ranron, How do you like the 8800? I was thinking about buying one. 2 quick questions. Can you answer a call without opening it? and How easy is it to open?

Thanks.
So wait, you got this news from the Middle freakin' East? They were the first ones to report on this? wow........just........wow
at least it has a dedicated camera button.
Just get a screen protector for it. I have one of those hard plastic stickies you put on the screen, and mine is fine. Even if it does get scratched up, you can change it out.
Why are these shots of supposed new stuff ALWAYS blurry? I mean jeez, it's like bigfoot or UFO photos. Just absolutely pathetic.
HA! Eat it Sony

"Update

It has been pointed out to us that this is a patent application at the moment - the patent has not yet been formally granted. "

Applications are granted numbers, because that's how things are organized. You assign call numbers to things, particularly patents, when you have 1323985739245 of them, including applications.

End of discussion. It's called literacy, try it sometime.
Christ, learn to read. It's an application for a patent. It hasn't been granted yet. Might want to actually read the farking article.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
