after toying with it, can I regift it?
This is the anti-christ. This makes me want a Magic Mouse. Things like this make me no longer question why Sun is having issues. If this is the type of partners that you attract, it is no wonder why you need saving.

Yes, I have 10 fingers (5 on each hands). Yes, I have 10 toes. No, I do not need a mouse with 18 programmable buttons with double-click functionality.
Too bad most of Apple users think more alike each other than one thinks and they will likely never be as successful as any of the people pictured here.

I'me pretty sure that Alfred Hitchcock and Amelia Earhart never owned or used a Mac. And Miles Davis probably did not either but it is only slightly possible that he did.
I am in favor of harsh penalties. I think that Amazon should reserve the right to a person's first born as a consequence as well. Anyone not concerned about violating the EULA will have no problem signing up. Those that already imagine, "wouldn't be cool if I could 'steal' a book or two at the expense of those thieving authors, publishers and that empire Amazon itself. They can afford it - I cannot," will have a problem signing this.

If consequences are set low, it will actual encourage violation. This is simple strategy. You cannot tell me that the fine for speeding should be set at $250 + additional amounts over 15 miles over the limit. It is set high enough so that people will pause before breaking the law.

Same here.
This is exactly what should happen in a healthy economy and in a struggling one. my goal is to try to create value and extract wealth from others by selling them a product or service that they see valuable.

I doubt that this rises to the occasion but if they sell one mouse, good for them. I will bet that unless this mouse has some super-fantastic software that comes exclusive with the mouse, it will not sell. If anything, the design will be mimicked to produce a cheaper mouse - maybe steel, or even plastic.

If they cost $5M to make, the people making them are over charging (and the person employing them is overpaying). Need to relocate the factory to China or Indonesia.
I agree but remember that Amazon is not a hardware company either. They bought the technology - same as B&N. I think that B&N and others do not want Amazon to do to books what Apple has done with music. I am an advocate for Amazon but I think that they have a ways to go with the interface of their site as it relates to books.
I just bought a Kindle DX because I have no confidence in Plastic Logic releasing a product. By the time that they do I am betting that there will be competing color screen products. Hell by the time that it is released, I will have saved enough money for an upgrade on Kindle - do not let me down Amazon.

With all the delays in the Plastic Logic, I am also betting that there will some issues with the product. The last video of the screen showed that it was extremely slow. That will be something that I look for as well as battery life.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
