I love all you people that keep praising Vista, saying it's the users fault that they refuse to get used to new things.

The fact remains, that it takes 3 minutes to transfer a 1.3 gig file, while Vista takes 15 MINUTES ?!

That in my view is what makes it a piece of crap. I did try it and working in TV production, it useless. It crippled my workflow, as opening video sequence or working with huge file for HD became a nightmare. And to tell you the truth, it was made me switch to Mac OS, as I was just plain and tired of having to deal with Windows.
I for one am Royally PISSED. I bought a Mac Pro 10 months ago, cost a fortune too, around 6,500$ They only thing that pissed me off when I bought it was the crappy graphic card (the ATI x1900). I thought it was pathetic of apple to be a complete generation behind when it came to graphic cards, since a Newer Generation of ATI cards for PC already where out and the NVIDIA 8800 where also out and made the 1900 look like a joke. But I needed the horse power, so I just assumed I'd upgrade the card eventually. (as better opengl performance is also important to me, as I produce 3D graphics)

Now Finally they announce A new card that I'm willing to buy right aways, to basically make my 6,500$ system complete and they have the audacity to tell me I have to buy a Completely new system, just to fix the damn error they made in the first place ?! WTF ?! I love Mac OS X, but I'm starting to loathe APPLE. As some have stated in the past, if they where as big as Microsoft, they'd be much more hated than them and this is a prime example of why!

Basically this "little" move of them is saying "Fuck you" to their biggest costumers, yeah, real nice.
6.49 for a rental is way too expensive.

So this takes forever to download, is highly more compressed than a blu-ray or HDDVD (meaning more artifacts) and yet, I'm supposed to pay more. Given that there is no physical media, this should at least be less expensive than a video store...

Yeah... don't think I'll be using this.
Oh and it's in microsoft points, meaning I have to give them 25 bucks, to spend 6.49. Goody :p
Well I often think the same way, but when I bought my sony SXBR60 tv, I got "fooled" into taking the extended warranty. Since it was for an extra 4 years it seemed like it might be worth it... Turns out that it just broke and the Service Guy told me he as to change the entire optic assembly of the TV... I just saved myself 2500$

So yeah, sometimes, depending on the worth of the TV, extended warranties might be a GREAT idea. ;)
Biased or not, it easy to realize that getting a 19" machine instead of a 24" for the same price is not a good deal. Think about it, for the same price you get a Faster machine and a much bigger screen size. Yes getting windows would be extra, but then again, it would be worth it for all the perks.
adriangrab, that example doesn't apply, since bootcamp still works if you have it installed.

Nothing wrong here in my book. It's more along the lines of if Gmail became a commercial product and you needed to pay for a NEW account, while leaving previous accounts alone.
LOLOLOL ?! what is that, laughing out loud, out loud, out loud ? Where are you, cause there's a lot of echo! :p
So wait, where is the bass ?! I always thought this was supposed to have a guitar and a base. Even the screen shots showed 2 guitar tracks and a drum track. WTF!
Like what Egster ? Games like Lair or Heavenly sword ,oh wait I finished that one the same night I rented it..

It's either late or underdellivered so far.

I'm really starting to regret my purchase of the PS3...
There is also the BIG possibility that this is a case of MONEY changing hands.

I really wouldn't put it pass Microsoft to have paid off these developers so to make sure those games run better on the XBox. It would be just like them to do something like that.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am trying to configure out a really dumbed down and intuitive PC for my grandmother. She recently had a stroke and while she is under my care I would like to repurpose a laptop for her to surf and email her children. Anyone have any experience with what input devices and UI's are really understandable for the over 80 crowd?"
