Then they started putting ads in front of movies. Coke commercials, or some other crap. I was still doing all right and could find a theater that has no commercials, decent Price to Theater Quality ratio and I brought in my own snacks.
I was perfectly happy, and then people started getting dumber. They seem less interested in enjoying the movie and more interested in testing my patience. This year, I finally had enough. After listening to a 3 year old giggle all the way through The Watchmen, and then having to listen to a baby in Paranormal Activity my love with the Movie Theater is over.
The last one truly made me give up. I politely asked for them to remove the baby, and was told, "You can't tell me what to do!" I let people know and the Manager came in and had them removed. Here's the kicker: those fine people left our theater, walked into the empty theater that my Lovely Wife and other Daughter were in. They sat next to them and started to complain (LOUDLY) that they were thrown out of the theater for bringing the (Still crying) baby!
The Lovely Wife and I started tossing cash into a jar every time we saw a movie that we wanted to see. $50 for our family of 4 to enjoy 1.5 hours of agony. Now, for Christmas, we are getting a 60 inch TV, and the movie theaters, and the people that go to them can bite me.
It is killing me that I am not seeing Avatar in Imax 3D, but I figure that if I can get through this, that I will be all set!
