Personally I have owned a PSP from day 1...but I've always been intrigued by the DS. I have finally decided to purchase a DS once I saw the lite version....and the new super mario bros game. I agree with the Txdohawk that this may be a short term gain. The games will really decide which, if either, pull significantly ahead. I have a feeling the Christmas 2006 shopping season will be a bloody handheld battle between these two.
Guess what...they just changed that page to now say "Coming Soon" instead of April 2006. Make of it what you will....
Ain't no way this thing will be out before summer. If it is I would watch out because it's going to have issues. With developers not even having final ps3 systems yet I just don't think this thing has a chance in heck of a spring release. If they're smart they will shoot for fall, sometime around Thanksgiving. Yes it would give the 360 even more time alone in the market but the potential fallout from a botched and rushed launch could be devastating. They need to get their stuff in gear, produce a large amount so they are minimal shortages, and then hit full force in the fall. If it's a great system then the 360's lead will not matter. Just my opinion....
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
