You know, for something that's supposed to be the successor to the Rio Karma, this is like 5 steps back...
Gotta love how it's always the rest of the world and us. I wonder why they're using 1.9GHz as a carrier frequency when you could just use 2.1 and have the rest of the world's phones work with your network...
5-6 hours...no, my mistake. Rather, at least 7 or 8, since 5-6 should be the standard these days.

These laptops have to be good for long distance travel. Look, I don't think you quite understand the niche that these laptops have in Japan They will buy this.
And, I ask of you to name a single laptop that lasts this long that isn't priced that high. I don't think you can. Buying multiple batteries does not count, obviously.
Yes, you can get a better laptop but don't you realize that was never the point of these types of models? These are roadwarrior laptops that must last at least 5 or 6 hours on a single battery on a single charge.
Not only that--if you're complaining about these prices, take a look at the Panasonic 5 series before you say anything else.
You know, a lot of people have problems with VAIOs, but the great thing is that's true of any company, so whatever. I haven't had any problems with VAIOs except for bad design (i.e. super tiny keyboards with no key width).

And what the hell are you guys going on about with bad pricing for these specs--you do realize that Intel is gouging the prices on those ULV chips, right?
There's no reason for 2GB then, unless you have everything in ALAC.
No thanks. I'll stick with something a little more useful, like my almost dead Rio Karma.
toodaloo, have you ever wanted to listen to only a few tracks over and over? So what do you do, delete everything on it except those specific tracks? Judging from the lack of a screen, how are you supposed to select a specific playlist?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
