Bad Company connection troubles? Just restart! {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Jun 30th 2008 2:19PM I'm having the same problems. The veteran unlock is totally broken. If I try to say I have Battlefield: Bad company it says my gamertag isn't linked, but if I choose the demo it says I haven't played online... (both of which aren't true). I was able to enter in my BF2 info, but my Veteran counter still says 0. Also when I enter in my CD key for Battlefield 1942 it says my key is already in use (I've never given it out to anyone)!

AND

I pre-ordered the game and was suppose to get an unlock code for a sniper rifle, except EA sent out the wrong codes and I got a unlock for the Machine gun which I already had an unlock code for. I contacted Amazon support and they sent me a new code which again didn't unlock the sniper rifle... ugh...

But at least I haven't had trouble connecting to the multiplayer server yet.

Gigabyte M704 unboxing video excites reviewer, may put you to sleep {Engadget}

Jun 22nd 2008 12:57PM the mobilx site he mentions is selling it for $1,176 (US, after tax, not including shipping). Probably pick one up for closer to $900 (plus tax and shipping) once Amazon and/or newegg gets them.

GameFly opens distribution center in Austin, Texas {Joystiq}

May 9th 2008 12:33AM They need a distribution center in the midwest. I live in Michigan and had their service a couple of years ago. Everything was great except the shipping times. I was averaging over a week for a one way trip! So getting a new game could be a three week ordeal (longer for holidays and when the post office loses your return disc). I would love to have their service again, but only when I can get a new game in under a week.

Pinwheel and old VCR used to make wind-powered LED {Engadget}

Mar 25th 2008 8:57PM Great idea but I have a couple of suggestions. I'm no electrician, but putting a resistor between the motor and LED will keep the LED from burning out prematurely. Like a 180 - 270 Ohm 1/8 watt resistor. Also WD-40 is a bad lubricant. Lubrication is not it's intended purpose (it's a rust remover) and it will actually destroy any lube already on the gears and motor. Just go and pick up any spay lubricant...

Poll: How will the CompUSA closings affect you as an Apple user {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 14th 2007 2:52AM Well I guess I'm one of the few, but I'll really miss them. The nearest Apple store is over an hour away. I've never had a real problem with the staff at the local CompUSA. They always were helpful when I needed something, or was getting something fixed. I prefer them over the other local options Best Buy and Staples. I have a serious problem with Best Buys sales tactics and Staples doesn't really have a good computer section.

I guess I'll just have to pray for a local Apple Store. :P

Poll: Extended warranties, necessity or shakedown? {Engadget}

Dec 6th 2007 3:28PM I always pick up an AppleCare warranty for my Apple gadgets. 10 replacement iPods (not exaggerating), 3 dead iMacs, and 3 broken iBooks... It's saved me a lot of money.
