Around here the official organization phone is an 8700c. We have lots of 'em. My own personal one is an 8800, but I used to have an 8700c.

In the last year it's basically broken down to people who have a Berry, people who have an iPhone, and people who have some LG that's trying to pretend to be either a Berry or an iPhone. Oh, and broke-ass people who have some old Motorola something-or-other but WANT a Berry or an iPhone.
So far, no major complaints. Fits well in the hand, startup time is quick, controls are simple and straightforward. I played with the 240fps and 600fps slow-mo modes a little... cute but not sure how much I'll use them. Oh, and as I do with all such devices, I turned off the digital zoom.
I actually just took delivery of my FH1, $429 through Buy.com, and I am already impressed with it. Coming from a MiniDV Sony, this thing is light without feeling flimsy, the controls are smooth, the still image quality decent. The remote control is the size of a CF card and unfortunately doesn't have a way to stick it on a keychain, so figure on me losing it soon.

Haven't played 1080p video back on the television over the not-included HDMI cable yet, but will when I get home. Yes, it's got compromises, but nothing really horrendous yet. I'll be checking on battery life this weekend. If anyone cares, I'll probably post an unboxing on my Flickr account.
I had toast for breakfast!!!!
I had to laugh. Like Ballmer knows NOTHING about logo-reflex? How's about all those people who are "convinced" they need MICROSOFT WORD (ask for it by name)? And by extension, Microsoft Office? How about paying extra for THAT logo, o master of the tongue? I like OpenOffice and NeoOffice (and StarOffice before them) just fine, thanks...
"it was a simple matter of rebuilding the spindle, rigging up a tiny breadboard with a few transistors, cramming the new Frankenstein drive into the game system, and -- of course -- finishing up with some handy case mod."

I am a small, small man. I rebuilt my bathroom wall and tub hardware this weekend.
Yeah, Apple screwed up with the MagSafe. It's possibly the dumbest move in years to release a new connector, refuse to sell a car plug for it, and refuse to license it to anyone else so they can build one. Restraint of trade complaint to the Obama Administration, maybe?

Little-known fact, though: you CAN use their "aircraft" adapter in a car, provided the engine's running. That nudges the voltage and current up enough that the adapter will work. With the engine off, the voltage and current are lower and it won't work.
Yeah, 10.5.5 just dropped, haven't pawed through it yet to see if there are ID strings for anything new. The listed fixes mostly center on MacBook Air, Time Machine, and some network stuff.
I pass Prii on the highway in my 12-year-old Volkswagen Passat TDI and chuckle, for I am getting better mileage than them in a car that looks much cuter. And when I'm done with the oil in my deep-fryer, it goes into the tank and gets burned.
The main problem is, there goes one of your maybe two USB ports. Uh-uh, I'll take a BT mouse, or even better, the touchpad on my Apples. Ports are for things you don't need all the time.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
