The "600-foot range" must be between 2 hilltops in Kansas, because on an unobstructed sidewalk, it loses contact with the tag in less than 200 feet.
One can find the tag indoors without a lot of trouble, but the direction indictaion is useless and one adopts a hotter/colder approach almost immediately.
So, it kinda works, but is severely limited in range and usability.
