There's actually the Mother of All Bugs in OS X since nearly the 10.1 It's complicated but certain prefs after a disgraceful reboot or something like bootcamp will be lost.

On notebooks it's ambient brightness, and automatic time. Drives ME INSANE, does it on all 50+ notebooks I've owned, and I can reproduce it on anybody's mac notebook.
Robert:

If you serious about your web development tool, contact me. I've spent many, many years working on UI for applications, and one of them was radical departure for web development stack. I've also written many blueprint, css reset, basic libraries to include that could be used for GUI page layout and form setup. The way I see it, there would be a sort of definition file/templates that could be changed or different group loaded. That way if someone changed the method for a 3 column fixed width layout or wanted to use UL for form controls vs. divs it would be easy to edit a set of files or templates that control this. This would also allow for updated methods to be sent, as well as uses to toss in fixes to a template for their purposes when building layout.

I'd love to get involved with something like this. As far as not having intel macs, not sure if I understand you. You don't have access to intel macs? I worked at vmware for a while ;-) If you have something that you really have going on and intel macs or ui/beautification and wireframes for your application are holding you back let me know, I have plenty of intel macs.
I've been coding web apps since, well since html was just around....

My problem with web layout is that we have PDF, postscript and plenty of languages that applications CAN and DO perfectly layout visually, and render to these languages. We should be nearly at the same level with CSS and html. There are really simple concepts for CSS column structures and layouts and resets that could be used in a well designed application from the ground up....

It's time for someone to step up to the plate and design and WYSIWYG app that allows page layout with excellent code, that can then be edited by hand to put in application code. Xcode has interface builder, yet on web front it's still just hand code, because no app does the CSS layout properly.
What about screen overlays with text, or command keys? This is probably more important in screen casting than anything. The ability to show an overlay that says "Command + A" or "Double Click the Icon"

I see it all the time in screencasts, but how can I do this? None of the apps seem to support it. What don't I know?
Macheist sucks. I paid last year for the full bundle, and still 200+ days later I do not have a response as to WHERE the hell are my other license, from any of the companies. I've only gotten to of the products, when I was supposed to get 5.

They can go to hell. It doesn't take 200+ days to NOT respond to dozens of emails.
Firewire will always be for pros. When we do video at a datacenter, we will use firewire. Not only is does it use less CPU, but the sustained rate is better, it also works over longer distances much better. USB is for consumers, and such and I welcome the improvements, but when you need to rely on critical data firewire is how you go.
Hey why not ask Walmart or Amazon for a cut too? They sell more stuff than iTunes....
As far as data it's funny that Verizon is using a subset of "GSM" (it's not really GSM like you think) for high speed data, because HSDSPA that Cingular uses is just a subset of CDMA. LOL

This has nothing to do with CDMA vs. GSM in the style of voice calls and the little chips. It's just a sub-protocol used in the backhanding of data. It means nothing.

For the record CDMA for voice network is far superior, that's not opinion it's just fact of the way the network is designed. You can pretty much see this by picking up any CDMA handset and a GSM handset and making a call.

I have at least one or two phone on every north american (major) celluar provider, and I'm shocked to tell you that CDMA is so much clear for calls. It's actually frustrating because GSM networks have the cool phones, while CDMA networks sound like landlines (back when I had them). It's probably why the CIA, DoD, and Much of the military forward command uses a version of CDMA not GSM.

Also in Japan CDMA (a version) is used in the most advanced networks.

The iPod Touch can add bluetooth, mic, or anything you want through iPod Accessory port. My iPod touch works just fine with the belkin snap on recording kit, and if you really wanted bluetooth Im sure i could be added with a tiny accessory;

Why woud you want buetooth anyway? Seriously bluetooth is way, way over rated Always problems with getting them to stay paired, horrible audio quality, even bluetooth 2.0 compress audio to 32kb at it's best quality. Absolutely stupid from my point of view.

You could easily make a logitec or skype headset that plugs into the iPod accessory port, or even better yet there are headsets out there now that work over wifi, that would be a better solution.

Either way I see a simple 3mm shaped like the bottom of the ipod touch/iphone accessory coming that lets you do mic in/out has build in radio, tv tuner and all sorts of cool things device makers could add.
FYI this has nothing to do with Steve Jobs and Apple. Last year the RIAA "snuck" into DMCA law that ringtones are considered separate, and that profits have to go to the record label. This means that if you own a song and turn it into a ringtone technically it's "illegal". This is the only reason Apple is requiring you to pay for ringtones. Once again the RIAA is screwing people over.

Please digg this comment so everyone can scream MURDER to the RIAA. Most people shouldn't worry, you can take your songs and turn them into snippets with all kinds of tools out there an upload them to your iPhone. My guess is iTunes will only let you modify songs you paid for the ringtones because of the stupid LAW that got passed.

SPREAD the WORD!!!

ALSO JUST google for mp3 ringtones, there are thousands of them out there, also check out howardforums.com
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
