You wanna know what sucks more? My service provider here in Australia (3 Mobile) offers me 4000 Skype Minutes a month with my service, which I can use on any phone that supports Skype except the iPhone, because of AT&T's deal with Apple in the US.

So while you can rail at AT&T about how they're being bastards, but think of how their actions are affecting the global iPhone user community... reaaaaaaaaaal endearing.
there's no specification of "free minutes/text" in Australia - you get a certain amount of "cap credit", which includes both calls and text, as well as any other "eligible services", e.g. voicemail.
Yep, if you look at the T&Cs it's got:

"Network Locking: Apple iPhone handsets are locked to the Optus network. An $80 fee applies if network locking is removed within the first 6 months from the activation date. Alternatively, if you recharge to the value of $80, no fee applies."
I'm hoping SCEE picks this up, because I don't think Xenogears was ever released in Europe/Australia, which would make this one very nice little package indeed...
The title means "Over in that part (asoko de) of (no) Japan (nippon)" (roughly speaking). From what I can tell of the trailer, it really does look like a interactive travel show-game thing - as the little UFO is flying around, the little subtitle updates with the name of the suburb/area currently being flown over :)
Cheapskates. It's just like when they dropped the dock from the iPod package - sure, it's not essential, but damn me if it's not useful. It's a petty money spinner for sure, and you all know it started with that 802.11n enabler for $1.99...
lucky you spent $200 on something you've never used? funny definition, if you ask me...
As far as Sony would be concerned, that's a double victory - they get Blu-ray in the loungeroom, and when the people are bored of watching movies, they go out and get the games for it. Given PS3's proven software upgradability, that's win-win.
PS3 has bluetooth - what is this, 2002? Get over not having IR.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
