I have a ~three year old MBP with that same hard drive and problem. I remember when it failed. It started beeping in 2 second intervals and the Hard Drive stop spinning (i think) therefore making it useless. I thought that it was an isolated problem but i see that everyone is having the same issue with the Momentus 7200.4 .

This issue is not only present in new MBP , this also occurs in the older MBP with motion sensors (like mine).

I originally purchased the Hard Drive from Dell and they are kind enough to replace it when it comes in stock. I Just need to get my data from the dead drive. Does anyone have any solutions?

I guess the PS3 will best the xbox sales this year due to the fact that i already have a 360. I actually plan to buy a PS3 now that own an Xbox. I purchased the console that i really wanted first.


Everyone has an Xbox 360 now. What else is out there to buy. a wii? :)

well i've actually did a simple experiment with the aid of guinea pigs. you too can try this at home. place the rodent between your wireless controller and the xbox 360. pop in some halo 3 and start playing ranked slayer. it has too be ranked or it wont work. get 20 frags using only your melee attack and watch what happens to the guinea pig. I guarantee that you will see the rat explode instantly before your eyes.
