WiBro always sounded to me like something from the "men's bra" episode of Seinfeld. WiBree sounds even worse... Is having a universal standard (BT) really that bad..?
#1: Actually, LG until 1995 was named "Lucky Goldstar" :-)
>we won't abandon this fledgling platform just yet.

Unless there is something I don’t know about UMPC (unlikely…) as of today – April 13, 2006 – no UMPC has shipped yet and he’s talking about abandoning it… Que fumas, hombre..?

Who is “we”, ‘cuz “we” here are delighted with the practicality of UMPC. And “we” use Sony U71, Fujitsu P-series submnis and 1510 tablet every day, so “we” know what “we” are talking about…
So, in the selling price in the US will probably be $1180 minus the usual 30% Expansys markup = eight hundred fifty something smackers. Not bad. I need it therefore I'll buy it.
If the new fone is anything like the crap T-Mobile USA sells as MDA then thanx but no thanx. The MDA's Windows part is slower than death (even after tweaking the memory, apps, ROM, etc.) and the phone part is really bad - where a Nokia 6600 shows 3-4 bars signal strength the MDA shows zippity doodah, nada, nothing, no signal, no network.
Neat, but I personally prefer the Jay Lenon jet motorcycle, to quote:

"the power for this sleek beast was a C18 Allison Rolls Royce Jet Engine, the same type used in a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter! Jay also explained that this was a shaft driven turbine engine and was capable of turning at 60,000 RPM. (...) this bad boy puts out 450 ft/lbs of torque—the same as a Dodge Viper! The jet engine (mounted upside down on an aluminum frame) also produces a temperature of about 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit out of the exhaust pipe, so be sure and stand back when this baby is fired up!"

Well...Sony has dumped the U series ultra-super-portable-almost-palmtop "lifestyle" thingie running full Windows XP rigth around the time Intel started showing their ultra-super-portable-almoost-palmtop "lifestyle" thingie running full Windows XP (which, nota bene, looked quite similar to the white MS apparatus shown above...)
I was not aware that Vonage gives you the ability to travel back in time and offer virtual numbers in the XIX century Europe. I'm sure that the good folks in parts of Prussia and Austro-Hungarian Empire will be delighted. Sadly, the eastern part of Prussia and the Kongdom of Naples and Sicily seem to be left out...Bad Vonage.
3-way tie in Software:
SONY rootkit
Symantec rootkit
iTunes spying on users

Hardware: Motorola iTunes "phone"
Dell 2405FPW - nothing even comes close!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just moved into a new apartment and have been reading about all of the new power strips out there, especially the green ones. I was wondering if you had any suggestions about which "green "power strips are out there with decent joules ratings. And when I say green, I mean power strips that have the remotes or switches to turn off all electricity flowing to certain plugs and with at least 2 plugs that are always on. I was looking specifically at sub $50 because I will need two, but if that is not possible I could be convinced otherwise. Thanks!"
