Virginia Tech HOKIES!!!!! WE RULE!
One thing I noticed after my previous comment is that this Toshiba is missing the nipple/eraser head mouse pointer :(

Touchpads suck...
Well, they probably get their Macs for free, compliments of Apple Inc. so it is only normal to assume that they'll be negatively-biased towards anything that doesn't get all the girls in college hot in their panties. As I read the comments so far, it appears that majority of Engadget readers are not stupid, rich, or fortunate enough (to be employed by an Apple endorsed employer) to buy a Mac when a PC which costs 2-3x less will perform just as well :)
Much more beautiful than 99% of laptops on market at the moment. IBM (Lenovo now) and Toshiba are the only companies who can still manage to make a real business machine, unlike Sony, Acer, Asus, Apple (lol), LG, etc. which cannot rollout anything but ricedup pattops. HP (Compaq 6910p) and Dell (Latitudes) still has a few machines who are suitable for businesses but I still like Thinkpads and Satellites better.

The author of this entry must be attaching straps on sides of his laptop so he can use it as a purse and make a statement.
@ michael: it's pretty darn obvious you don't know anything about computers other than alienware, which is quite ugly IMO but I am sure you love them. see, people who use computers for a living would choose an IBM (Lenovo) over your POS Dell or HP because function paired with excellent aftersale support is what really matters. if you want a pretty piece of electronic, go get an Apple or something.
Cool. VT Alumni here. Got an idea, they can fix the crappy, slow, unreliable BUT expensive internet in Blacksburg next.
6. Fix the damn software used to sync your music.

Damnit Microsoft, I love Windows, Xbox, Office, etc. but you frickin sunk with the Zune software. The worst piece of crap I have ever experienced.

Anyone know an alternative to it?

@ Astutefool:

Good point, but my biggest problem with VA's service is that some of its functions (such as movies) are pay-per-use (view).

Cool, but VA is not the first airline to have a similar system. I recently took a flight from Istabul to New York via Turkish airlines and they had 27 movies, over 50 episodes of TV shows, online browser, tons of games, documentaries, SMS, e-mail service, power outlets at each seat, soon to be installed ethernet ports at each seat, etc. so I don't know what advantage VA has over that? Remember, even though games and movies may be free, they charge you for SMS, email, and internet browsing, so unless VA provides all these goodies for free, gets a big "MEH" from me :) And I am pretty sure VA is going to be way more expensive than any other airline...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm pretty much a complete noob when it comes to camera stuff. My wife loves to take pictures, though. So much so that she literally wore out her first point and shoot camera, and the Kodak Z712 I bought for her less than two years ago is starting to act up as well. To compound the matter, we are expecting our first born sometime next year. I fear the Kodak just isn't going to cut it any longer. What would be the best starter DSLR to get? She hates missing photo opportunities due to camera 'lag' so speed would definitely be at the top of the list. Photo quality and features would be next. Price should be no more than $800. I'm not interested in video capabilities."
