With all these companies making a rebadged version. I won't be surprised if Playboy or some porn company made their own version with preinstalled gb's of porn and a direct button to visit their website ;)
If this is a rebadged Wind. Why is it posted on Engadget?

Please just make a weekly overview of the xxx rebadged notebooks that come out every day.

Unless there is new hardware, it is nothing special anymore.
This has been done in most European countries. People get paid to stay in line. Students get free Apple products and they show it asif 80% of all students use Apple.

Apple does a lot of Hollywoord in-TV and in-Movie advertisement, newspaper advertorials and so on!

Its called...... Marketing and apple is very good at it!
Delayed from April till September! But finally a laptop with 3G. Yet this version does not seem to have the same amazing design as the one in April. Specially the keyboard
I know Americaans don't find 3G intressting because they don't have full coverage and when they do, they are lucky to get 384Kbit. But in Europe 7.2Mbit has 95%+ coverage in some countries and we do find 3G a major point for mobility!
What is the point of having online storage for a device that does not have 3G (unless you use your phone + bluethoot and drain your battery)
I think it looks mucht better than the current design.
What about 3G?
Please keep in mind that productioncost have risen with 20% and the Dollar lost 35% of its value, and transportation cost went up by 25% since Asus first talked about a $200 laptop.

So in all fairness. It is not strange that the final pricetag of the 7inch was not $200 but $300.
I think their goal was to be small, mobile and affordable.

Before Asus the alternative 9 inch and 10 inch laptops (Sony) where and still are 2x - 3x more expensive.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a 12- or 13-inch ultraportable that can also play modern games at a reasonable level, for less than $1,000. I know the brainiacs out there can help me out. Love the site, thanks!"
