You also have to watch out for the DRM on games like FarCry 2 that keeps file checkers running in the background 24/7. I can't understand how Steam let 2ndary DRM get installed with some games.
I own 60 games on steam, but only have L4D1, L4D2, MW2 installed right now.

Keeping them uninstalled makes sure your system is clean. And unless you install the games on a 2ndary partition, it also makes sure your system files are defraged and close together. Which increases normal system performance. Downloading is not a big deal for me. So I never back up games or keep them installed even though I have 5tb of disk space. Performance is more important for me.

This is also the reason Steam can have such deals. They know when someone buys 10 games, they will only install 1 or 2. People are paying for the "achievements of buying the games" that shows up under there community profile.

It would be cool if we could trade the games. However that will never happen. The reason steam is successful is for that very point. Once a game is purchased it can not be resold. Unlike xbox/ps games. I can buy a xbox game then resale it a month later and make 85%+ back. Steam and any downloaded contant (even on the xbox/ps) your stuck with.

The worst part about down loadable content is what the wii does. You can only download once. If you get a new Wii you can't transfer. Xbox360 is unlimited which is super, ps3 is 5 times.
I'm confused... Why do you need the disk space?

Just because you buy them, does not mean you have to download them today.

Play one game. Finish it, Uninstall, then install the next game.

This is the 2nd time I saw you guys mentioning needing disk space when you don't.
I just got a my first mac mini last month when the new version came out. When I installed this update my computer got stuck on a grey screen with a rotating hour glass thingy. Did not reboot for over an hour. Had to pull the power. Hope I didn't screw up the install.

So far I hate this POS OS. It is so inefficient to use. You can't see two application toolbars at the same time. Every time I switch programs the other program disappears when I want to still see the document I had open in the background. Why do I want to waste my screen real estate to huge icons? I really don't understand why people make such a big deal about this OS, but I am trying to figure it out.
'this' is the VPC-WH1

so the Sanyo VPC-WH1 VS Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1

both same price, $399.99
What do you think is better, this or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 ?

I realize the DMC-TS1 is a camera, but it also takes movies underwater.

I don't care about zoom much, or the camera part.

Just video, both do HD. So which is better doing video underwater (or above) ?
I read Engadget every day but i HATE Jimmy Fallon. I watch late night to laugh and to escape, not to get a recap of everything I did at work during the day.

Jimmy Fallon is trying to hard and he is NOT funny.

Plus the band is bad and he talks over all the guests.
XPSs have the nicest cases you will ever see.
slingmedia has the most buggy software ever seen. They are more concerned with hitting the small apple mac and iphone market, then making 95% of everyone elses software work as advertised. Sling projector stops your desktop sound from working at all (mutes your entire system) and doesn't work with blueray or hddvd playback.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
