Wow, even more apple-fanboyism in this thread than usual.

1. $799? Are you on crack? Double that, at the least. This is apple, not acer, and screens like that don't come cheap. Unless its some shit 768 x xxxx display, which we know isn't going to happen.

2. No, verizon does not currently do HSPDA, but they said over a year ago that their 4g network would be LTE, which is GSM. By the time this tablet actually comes out, it would probably have an LTE chip, which means verizon is still in the running. And after seeing how poorly AT&T handles data devices, its not likely apple would give it to them.
@NITE

Can we we please quit it with this "Unibody Alumunium" bullshit. Its a piece of aluminum. Its been around for 100 years or so now, and the "Unibody" bullshit that you guys slather over more than Job's c**k just referrs to the fact that its milled out of one piece. Which, by the way, does not make it green, it makes it anti-green, because you could make it out of pieces with half the aluminum and half the machining = less consumption.

Now magnesium and rubbery plastic construction, with titanium strengthening, theres something thats actually a little new.
wtf 768 vertical res screen !? party like its 2002.
Your numbers are off Greg. AT&T, in theory, is paying the same price to Apple as you pay when you buy one at MSRP at their store (replacement cost), so $599 like you said you paid. That would be them subsiding like $400 of it for hte $199 price you pay with a new contract.

HOWEVER, AT&T, even if they are subsidizing the iPhone for you (which they certainly are) still isn't paying the full MSRP. They're probably paying something like $100 over your cost ($300), or at most double your cost. The early termination fee for AT&T is only around $350; if they were really paying a a $400 subsidy it would be substantially higher.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"For a long time I have been searching for a portable device where I can store all of my CDs in MP3 format and stream the songs wirelessly to my HiFi system. The portable device must I've tried FM transmitters, they all suck. I don't want a docking station. Any help? Thanks!" have a display so that I easily can scroll through the playlists (I don't want to use a TV or monitor). I suppose that there must also be a second device that is connected to the HiFi system that would receive the wireless streams from the portable device.
