Smart phones are going the way of the mp3 player aren't they. Within a year or 3 every electronic manufacturer out there will be able to knock one out, brimmed with features, and a great OS for not much money at all. I've just got an n97 and although I can see its faults I don't think there's much room for substantial improvement. No need for a better camera, or more storage and it's already packed with features and functionality. Sure they could put a better processor in it, better software, and make it smaller, but natural evolutions will see this reaching its pinnacle before long. And we've already seen its price fall significantly. I just can't see that there's much more room for improvement with these things.
Don't like the font. Too small for one. And just don't like it.
I think perhaps that gamers, 'core and casual gamers alike, are maturing as gamers. For me personally, I've always been a sucker to get over-excited by games, but over time (it's taken approx 25 years), i've learnt that alot of games don't live up to their hype and my expectations. I've learnt that I don't need to spend good money on a game that is only slightly better than other iterations. I've learnt that if I wait, the game will significantly drop in price within a few months of release. I've learnt that nowadays I hardly have the time to spend on my existing games, let alone the new ones. I've learnt that just because reviewers like games doesn't mean that I will. I've learnt that Mario does not equal guaranteed fun. From this, I think alot of us are becoming more discerning as gamers and are able to better identify games that we will connect with better, and thereby don't buy as much fluff.
I'm not against motion controls by any means, but I have been thoroughly disappointed with them so far and will not invest in them any further until they are proven. I got burnt with the Wii (not used for 2 years), Wii Fit (used once), Motion Plus (still haven't used it) so I won't even look at PS3s' offerings unless they're mighty spectacular.
Why is everyone so excited by this? It's not much better than the n97 is it? Or is Android that much better than the other OSs'

Do you think it will come to Australia soon? Worth waiting for? I'm considering getting an n97 on a plan but I think it's a little chubby for my liking
They should have had 80's hairdo PC promoting the new release. Not boring noughties PC.
It's a great time to get a PS3 now. I got one last month. Plenty of very good games falling to budget or bargain prices now. Motorstorm 2, Killzone 2, GTA IV looks like it's about to drop in price, MGSIV at reduced prices. Personally I'm going to stick with the reduced price games for now, there's plenty to keep me busy, and then i'll pick up the likes of Uncharted 2, MW2, Lost Planet 2, once they become low priced. I bought the first F.E.A.R. for $23 AUD - bargain. Would like to get my hands on Virtua Fighter V for the same price, and I'm sure they'll be throwing Heavenly Sword and Resistance 1 out the door fairly soon.
Why the C64 reference? The C64 that I remember was chubby and grey.
PSP Go looks good, but not good enough. And way too expensive. Give me one good reason not to buy an itouch, or a smart phone from LG, Nokia, Samsung or HTC
Alot of us PS2 owners are now fully responsible adults, with full time incomes and less available free time. I've got my PS3 Slim now, and although I haven't played it much yet, cos of time constraints, i'm eagerly awaiting to buy my second once the price halves again as it inevitably will in 2-3 years time. I think Sony have got it right now.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a wireless trackpad to use with my older (2.5 or so years old) C2D MacBook that's perpetually docked to my home theater. Something sleek, thin, not too small, made of high quality materials. Ideally, it would natively support all of (Snow) Leopard's multitouch inputs, and even more ideally, it would have a charging dock / base. The only problem is that I'm not sure that such a thing even exists. Think you can throw me a bone?"
