The specs on this are very very good. AF points aside. I have a 30D so the 40D doesn't interest me much but the competition are definatley circling Canon right now and if the image quality of this is on a par they will steal sales for sure.
It's not the noise itself but rather the effects. As the rveiew shows, the test shots, even at ISO100 and 200, have quite heavy image processing to reduce noise. This processing robs the pic of detail giving you a reduced quality image as a result.

It's not too bad, agreed, but the Fuji is miles ahead in overall 'pixel' quality.
These guys really need to spend some time on their sensors. Noise at ISO 100 and 200 is completely unacceptable these days and until they fix that these cameras just aren't serious contenders. The difference between the Pany and the Fuji shots is huge.
Basically a software upgrade? I don't think so. The jump from GMSK modulation to 8PSK was a huge stress on the processor (both for the de/modulation itself and handling the increased amounts of data) so a jump from 8PSK to 32QAM will be no walk in the park.

The networks may be able to do this without swapping out base staion hardware, unlikley though, but mobiles themselves will need more beef in the processor and memory hardware. Oh, and then there's the power consumption.

Anyway....

The clix 2 looks tremendous and the media streamer looks very very tasty too. Bring it on!!
I agree with David. Even on the F11 the ISO1600 mode is very very useful indeed. The noise generated in 800 and 1600 is quite manageable and considering this ain't no dSLR it's pretty remarkable. It certainly pounds the equivalent P&S competition into the ground on the ISO front.

Hopefully the Z5 performs in a similar manner.

Makes me want to cry!! My Karma is still alive and kicking and I have no immediate thoughts to buy an Ipod (or other) until they can match the Karma's feature set.

Sad, sad, sad, sad this never hit the shops.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"What is the best wireless surround sound speaker solution? I have a home theater where running wires is just not feasible. I have my own speakers, so I don't want a system that has speakers with integrated wireless. I've done a far amount of research and have only come across a few companies that even offer a reasonable solution: KEF, Kenwood and Rocketfish. Is there anything else out there? What do you recommend? Thank you!"
