I have bought 27 Acer Aspire Ones - for myself, friends, and my shcool. It's no wonder Acer is seeing phenomenal growth....GREAT products that people actually want to use, AND completely hackable....FUN!
Okay, maybe there's someone out there who can answer this question - maybe even someone from Engadget. It seems to be that this blog has had a tremendous amount of power to sway Palm in the past. I might even contend that Palm owes a great deal of credit to Engadget for helping them change course and even score big early in it's development with a number of glowing reviews. Far be it from me to complain, I'm glad to see a company responsive to a knowledgeable public.

So....if the Palm Pre has been easily hackable since the beginning, why doesn't Palm just work with these hackers. Wouldn't it be cheaper in the long run to toss some teenage genius $10,000 for some fine coding that eventually makes the gadget better? Now I'm sure Palm programmers would have a hissy-fit - but maybe it will make them work that much harder to make the Palm Pre even better! Maybe I'm just idealistic in thinking that a group of people could actually make a SWEET handset....or maybe this was Palm's plan all along.

Any comments?
If the toaster was Linux, you'd have to hack into it to make it toast both sides.
You can't STEAL the spotlight unless you share it first.
Okay, I'm really not sure how large Oklahoma City's network might be, but I'm really sick of hearing about wifi projects that don't work. I remember being in Philadelphia, and while it was nice, it obviously failed.

Come to Saskatchewan Canada. Our largest centres all have Wifi projects. Saskatoon has free wifi in the downtown core, broadway (a nice area just off downtown), and our two main campuses. Regina has wifi downtown, Cathedral (like Broadway in Saskatoon) and on it's two campuses, North Battleford has downtown wifi, and so does Moose Jaw.

Works great! Oh yes...and we invented medicare :)
Anyone seen the Family Guy where Peter gets his own theme music? This would be SWEET!

"I commonly need to boot a system from an external disc and take a snapshot of the host system. I also then need to burn a copy of the image to a DVD. While I can do it with two separate external devices, and two power supplies, and two I/O cables, it'd be nice to find a small dual-drive enclosure. It would need to have USB, eSATA, and FireWire. Either slim-line or half-height bay for the optical burner would be fine, and space for either a 2.5- or 3.5-inch hard disc. Any ideas?"
