Philadelphia's citywide WiFi close to shutting down {Engadget}

May 11th 2008 3:39PM Hmm, I'm sure you're way smarter than George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. They were just a bunch of religious, conservative rich guys, right? They just wanted more money, and creating the longest-standing government in the world just helped them make more $$$, right?

You people should try reading history someday, not "History" text books. It's rather enlightening.

May 11th 2008 3:35PM KisMAC, a Mac port of Kismet for Linux, is a Network utility that includes some interesting tools for decryption and network cracking. Its main function is that of a utility, with the ability to connect a USB GPS device.

And my network shall remain in WEP mode with a long, random passcode. If you have enough time to sit outside my house and decode my password, then I'll have enough time to crack your machine and delete your System folder (Home folder if you're on a Mac).

PC Magazine likes the new iMac {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

May 6th 2008 11:35PM I agree the wired Mighty Mouse is a piece of mighty rodent dung, but the Wireless Mighty Mouse is much better. It seems to differentiate between right/left clicks much better, though the side buttons are still weird. Another thing is that the weight of the batteries really makes it a stable mouse; strange though it may seem, having that much more weight really changes the way the Mighty Mouse works.

And no, no integrated card reader. Sure gluts of pro photographers use them, but it would totally take away from the look and feel of the iMac (*awed silence*). USB is better for the card readers, and a peripheral can most likely accept more types than a built-in one.

Or IRAN

Or SAUDI ARABIA

Heck, there's enough oil in TEXAS to fuel this nation for 200+ years! Why won't the government drill HERE instead of buying oil from Islamic nations?

That's the real way to fix the oil crisis, short-term anyway. I'm a die-hard ultra-conservative, but I completely understand the importance of developing better, more efficient energy technologies.

Apr 30th 2008 10:30PM Oh my goodness, get a life! If you're worried about the costs, then sure, but whining about the poor earth? Come on!! The earth has done fine for the 6,000 or so years it's been around, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, regardless of the crap Al Gore spouts.

Sheesh.
