Microsoft's statement (in a nutshell):
"# of smartphones running WinMO > # of phones running iPhone OS"

Verdict: True

Apple's statement (in a nutshell):
"# of iPhones sold > (insert a particular make a model smartphone that isn't one made by RIM)"

Verdict: True

Bottom line: as much as people love to argue the Microsoft vs Apple thing to the ground, might I insert a thought here:

Neither statement contradicts the other.
wimax ASUS EEE PC W/ >7 in screen FTW!!!
Actually, if you consider Metal Gear Solid to be a new franchise, certainly built from the NES/MSX versions but new, like the MegaMan X series could be considered different from the NES version... then Night Elve was correct... Metal Gear was born on MSX... but Metal Gear Solid was born on PS1.
I would so very much appreciate it were I fortunate enough to win this contest. The iPhone would replace the iPod that a coworker stole from me at work. :( No sob story (not that I'd get any sympathy), only the truth.
where does it say that M$ ACTUALLY DID THIS. i MEAN, i DO SEE THAT IT'S THE AUTHOR'S ASSUMPTION, but that does not make it fact. Anyway, are you saying that M$ would have to spend 50M$ to keep ppl from buying PS3s come November... :)
ummm... consider the following statement:

"... as he didn't even know he was shot until he fished around for his Pod and found a mangled piece of white / chrome kit instead"

wouldn't that only REINFORCE, not disprove the fact that the ipod WAS, indeed, the 'hero', as it were. I'm sure that, without the ipod there, he would have most certainly noticed?
To Wouter: Ummm... yeah. Like I said: this IS the Teclast c260.
It is not a clone... it IS the Teclast c260.
One thing ruined the launch: price. 360, WII wouldn't be an issue if the ps3 had a $300-$400 price tage. And while, I understand that, it's more a function of affordability than actual interest/desire to own the system. same thing with psp vs DS. $250 vs $130... ummm, not exactly rocket science.
Can you all please just get Nintendo's cocks out of your asses and take the article for what it is; an opinion based on someone's ideas regarding the Wii. Geez, I can't stand you Nintendophiles, always up and arms whenever someone expresses a thought other than "Nintendo is God. Any 20 year old franchise you refry and feed to us again (and again and again...) we will gladly eat as though it were ." You all need to learn to take a deep breath, expand your minds a bit, take the article the same way we're supposed to take your bitching: however you please. But please, think about it before you post. Damn fanboys.

p.s. I know I'm new, so leme just say, I own a DS and PSP, with the DS being the system I play more. Just put this here in case someone calls me a PSP/PSP fanboy. I could care less about the systems; it's gaming I love. Period.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
