Because your HDTV has a QAM tuner. Most PC HDTV tuner cards do not feature this and if they do the support is limited, that is it only works with the card's software and not MCE 2005 or Vista MC.

You are also lucky as many cable providers scramble all of their non-local HDTV channels.

Invasion of privacy my rear-end. Currently these only measure the last 20 seconds of driving and thus will only be useful to look at after accidents, helping the police find which, if any driver, is at fault.

I can understand subsidizing low-income phone service (most people don't choose to be poor), but why the heck do I have to subsidize people who choose to live in the boonies. If they can't afford that they should move where life is more cost effective.
Mak - For the vast majority of cable systems in the US, "digital cable" is only digital for channels above 100. Also 90% of households don't have an HDTV so HDTV programming is pointless for them. Thus even for people who have digital cable these Tivos will look just as good recording channels under 100 as their "digital cable" DVR box.
Wow! Why do Apple fanboys have to be so closed minded? They can never see any value in something unless Jobs has blessed it with his approval, then once he does they will go on forever about how its the greatest thing ever and Apple is so revolutinary for using said technology (See, Intel Pentium v. PowerPC).

I think subscription music will be the same thing. For many people SubMusic does not have much if any value, generally people who do not listen to a broad and changing variety of music. For them, it is simply cheaper to buy the CDs and singles that they like. However for many people who like to listen to new and/or varying amounts of music SubMusic is an awesome alternative. I tend to listen to the same 80-90s Modern and Alternative Rock, however I also dabble in tons of other genres. The abiltiy to hear about some band or song you never heard about and simply listen to it instantly is really cool. I've added tons of songs to my collection this way. I'll continue buying CDs of my favorite albums for my portables and listen to other songs on my YME! Unlimited (its cheaper if you don't get the support for portables).
This can also be used with SageTV, a great PVR/HTPC program (well at least the wired version can be and I assume the wireless will).

Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
