Nice Apple! Put in features that should have been there in the first place, cut down the price of the iPhone, and then require that you have to sign a two year contract with attzilla. That should deter most people from wanting to unlock their 3g iPhone if it will be possible. I mean why would anyone want to go through all the trouble of ending their contract early and pay att that 200 dollar fee. Also, anyone remember the whole ipod linux project, and remember what happened when Apple released the 2g nano, they encrypted all the firmware. I'm sure they'll do that this time, to make it nearly impossible (i.e not worth the time) to unlock. The only thing you have done here is make the price of 1g iPhones sky rocket in the near future and not likely sell one of your brand spanking new 2g iPhones. Nice! Good thing you have tons of money in the bank.
Only one question, will it blend?
Lame news, moving on now.
Could there be anything more pointless or amateurly made? Maybe, maybe not. I take it no pointless Apple news could be found today and this had to take its place.
We all know the reason this satellite has stopped working. If you don't cue the clip from the South Park movie regarding Mr. Gates but I'm just kidding. In all seriousness though I'm glad my tax dollars are going somewhere, just maybe if get my telescope in right place at the right time, I can see just how effectively they are being used.
Exactly, do what I did if you want to have an Apple or any laptop for that matter with long battery life, that is without paying over a grand and/or having to import it. I bought one of those old G3 Powerbook's on ebay, the firewire one, code named Pismo and upgraded it to the max. This is including a 7200 rpm 100gb hdd, 1gb of ram, G4 upgrade chip, and two 8 hour extended batteries from wholesalelaptopbattery.com. With 10.4 in the configuration I have, it is very acceptable for what I use it for, taking notes in class, giving powerpoints, surfing the web, checking email, using office, web development, programming, and at times some light photoshop/creative type stuff, surely the kind of stuff that the Macbook Air is likely going to be used for or what people would like to use it for. I think all told with the upgrades I spent only about $500 for a laptop thats more than capable for above purposes. Sure I won't be doing any heavily CPU intensive work, or anything more than what I have described above on it, but then again when I'm at that point I'll just use the Macbookpro or G5 desktop I have. Thanks Job's, I admit I'm a fanboy, but even fanboys have a line they won't cross and at which point won't be impressed. I'm afraid sir thats all you have accomplished with this new, as far as I can see $1800-$3100 PDA, device, or whatever you want to call, but surely not a laptop. By the way its not the world's thinnest laptop, I believe the carbon fiber Sony x505 or whatever the model number was stole that title about 4 years ago and still holds it, and would likely be bought before this "Thinnovation" would be.
Awesome! Pick me!
Same here. Sony might have some DSLRs nowadays and sure they might be cheaper and I'll even agree they are a good start, but Sony has alot more work to do before they are up to par with Nikon, Canon, or even Pentax. I much prefer the layout of buttons etc Nikon uses, not so much how Sony handles it. I've used a couple Sony's just messing around with them in stores and like I said they still need a lot of work. However, at the end of the day its the photographer that makes the photo, not the camera, although the camera either detracts or adds to the creative process.
I agree with blurry eyes. I was in the same situation and why I ever did that is beyond me now. However now with the ps3 I will wait for couple years until the price comes down because for $600 I could grab myself a Wii and Xbox 360 but even those I'm waiting on as well. As far as this hype goes I was out on the night of launch and at the local stores it was madness. And another thing of madness I was on ebay yesterday morning checking on things and I decided to check out what the ps3 situation was and I found one that people had bidded on and was @ 30k.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
