woah, all the mispellings. *smacks self*
The theory that designers prefer Mac's is bull. Sales don't support that idea.

And besides, all the newest software comes out first for the PC, and minor software (Sothink Quicker-- invalable for editing 3 year old SWF files without the FLA, which is increasingly common due to the sheer amoutn of people without a clue) for systems such as Flash come out only for the PC. This is not even talking about 3D software.

In fact, the only place where Mac's lead is in the designers HOMEs. because they aren't expected to really know how to use their computers without the IT guys hovering around them, so at home that's what they use because Mac's are a combination of exclusivity, culture, and ease of use (I do admit, that Macs are easier to use for the non-tech saavy, with fewer problems from Trojans and Virii).

As a tech saavy designer and coder, I can't live with a Mac no matter how the interface is blingin' (and I do say blingin' because that's all it is, I'm not the type to install stupid widgets on the desktop-- I'm just not the target market, and I have dual wide 20's), due to the lack of options and software (sure, all the majors are there, but the invaluable small tools are impossible to get). In fact, the first thing when I get to a new PC or Mac is to try to turn off every and all "enhanced" graphical settings to squeeze as much juice out of the system as possible so I can save a bit more of my previous time as possible, instead of waiting around for a 300 megabyte PSD layer file to save, or if I'm using Final Cut or Premiere Pro, for my videos to render.

The only places where the Mac's are a little better in my opinion is "luxery" department, and I mean "luxery". For example, for the little pulsing LED costs about 5 bucks for them to implement, but end up costing you 20, and so on. But much like the difference between an expensive BMW and the Camaro, and what your intended goals are, I prefer my work done fast.

PC's may be ugly, finnacky, and everything, but they get the job done. Cheaper. Often Faster. And they often to jobs that Macs just can't do.

I can't believe I actually went off on a rant about the Mac vs PC thing. Flame war in 1....2.....
Does anyone think this whole ipod thing is getting out of hand. I mean, you have ipod mixing systems in which the only virtue is that it fits the ipod. Most suck, but I guess it's a quick way to latch on to unspecting apple-philes for profit.
Given Maxtor's reliability concerns, does it mean that the drive will project a 3d holographic message of a harddrive malfunction exactly 5 seconds after the fact?

// a bit bitter, had a few HD crashes, all Maxtor.
You shouldn't have to disable G mode on your router e71... most routers have mixed mode that works seamlessly. My linksys, d-link, and hawking routers all supported it.
As someone who works with photoshop and other graphics program every day for the last 10 years, if that's photoshop, it's DAMN good photoshop. no seriously, the reflections and everythign is so damn perfect.

if it's fake, it's a real fake, as in, a fake device someone took a picture of.

All we need is a game from lucasoft that comes with a light saber handle. then that chubby kid who was doing the darth maul impression would just be an everyday occurence.
There is a legal term that escapes me.... something to do with intent. Which means if you were a drug dealer and you thought you were selling LSD or Ecstasy but they turned out to be sugar pills or some such you'd still be arrested.
OMG, there needs to be more science and math in my country.

Even if water some how got in (like someone shooting a gun at the thing in japan, where they don't have guns), I'm sure they have numerous resistors and fuses and such so that it'll trip the circuit before it has a chance to do any real harm.
I'm waiting for the keyboard... but man oh man, i could see this being used for carputers, custom terminals, in DIY hacks.... 100 is a very good price for this technology. it's also a good proof of concept so they can acquire funding for the actual keyboard.. which i hope won't be 40 pounds with keys that take 3 pounds of pressure to actually depress.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I am looking for a device that will stream sound from one source to several recipients. For example, I want to stream sound from my TV or stereo to my phone or MP3 player that has radio and Bluetooth capabilities. I have looked into radio transmitters and they seem like a decent choice, but I can't find one that uses external power (USB or from the plug) and I would want one with a transmit range of around 50 meters. Thanks!"
